But-the-other-guy-didn't-get-punished "argument" in a nutshell:
"Yesterday, I ate an apple. But no one around me was eating an apple at the same time.
OMG, I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO EATS APPLES!!"

A man pulled his gun and shot at me, so I shot back.
It goes both ways.
How about this one. "I am upset the system didn't act with complete justice! gets upset IT DOESNT MATTER IF I AM TOXIC BECAUSE I CAN BE THE OTHER-GUY-DIDN'T-GET-PUNISHED"
The system is upsetting, not rehabilitative. Riot should address both issues so that the process and the person can focus on how to be better, not the injustice within the system.
