Does receiving honor contribute to the progress from honor level 0 to 1

formula is simple:

1. Play lots of games
2. Get honored
3. Get team honor bonus
4. Don't get validly reported

Time has nothing to do with honor progression. Most people slip up on point4.

To answer the most simply, yes. Once your honor has been "unlocked" any honors you receive will help you gain the next honor level. At the time a punishment is given, the honor for an account is locked, shown by a lock on the honor insignia on the account profile. After the player puts in clean games (it takes more games for more severe punishments), the lock is removed, and the player's honor is "unlocked." Having toxic games, i.e. games where the player is being validly reported, but the system deems it not severe enough for a punishment, will cause the account to remain locked for a longer period of time. It will also cause a player to stay at honor level 0 if it resumes after their honor has been unlocked.

The easiest way to get to Honor level 1 from level 0 is to follow the formula that Kei143 has listed. Play lots of clean games, get honors, hope that your teammates all honor everyone so that you get the bonus honor, and most importantly, don't get reported! The biggest thing that holds people back isn't the number of games played, or whether they are being honored or not. It's that they are still being reported and don't realize it. You've got to play it clean. If it means muting everyone, and only using pings, then do it. You can type a "gl hf!" in the beginning, and a "gg wp" at the end. You can type things like "great job!" "thanks for the gank" or any other sort of positive comment, all the while having your team muted so that if there is anything potentially toxic, you don't hear it, and are never tempted to respond. At the end of the day, do what YOU need to do to make sure that you are not typing toxic things to your team. And if you're not sure if something is toxic, you can always post previous chat logs here on the Boards, and we can give you an idea of the sorts of things to avoid saying so that you can keep from getting those periodic reports that slow down your honor progress.

getting honored doesnt do anything. the outcome of the game doesnt either.

As long as you dont type anything at all in chat, your honor goes up.
