Pls dont match me with players i just reported.

So im in a match where we were losing. I was playing Lux mid and was doing decent (i think i was like 2/2/1 or smt) but the enemy ekko i was laning against was getting kills off of roaming. I would ping MIA, i'd danger ping bot, i once even typed "guys get to tower now ekko is gone" and they still just ignored me and died like (omitted) everytime.

I knew we had lost the game at like 15 minutes, but i tried to keep cool and just didnt speak at all. My team started flaming me after i said something like "wow ekko just did 700 damage to me with an E". They were saying stuff like "hes 8/2 idiot" and "dont feed next time" and "stop crying." So i replied with "im not feeding." So, they start going beserk and i mute them after like 30 seconds. I reported 2 people at the end of the game.

I see one of them in my next lobby (i noticed that once you get in plat and above, you start familiarizing names) and didnt realize at first. He then replies with "oh fuck its that shit lux from last game" (for the record, i ended with the most kills and least deaths on my team, and had the most cs in the game.) He bans lux (i had her hovered) and then starts harassing me again. I cant mute him bc its pre-game, so i just try to ignore chat and continue with my game.

I picked LeBlanc and was against a Leona mid (??) and i was doing really good at like the 12 minute mark. Leona was like 4/3 from killing my jg a lot, but i was (i think) 3/1 and had almost double her cs. I hadnt muted the player yet because i forgot to, since they hadnt said anything yet when we got into game.

Then, Leona starts roaming top (they were the toplaner) and they died alot (i was pinging!). I got the turret the 2nd time she roamed, but then died to a 3man on my way to recall.

Obviously, the top starts lashing out on me and i muted them. We lost 15 minutes later.

Sorry to write such a long wall of text but i just wanted to share my story to ask if i could not see people i just reported in my next game. It was a very unpleasant experience that i shouldnt have had to deal with. Thanks for reading.

I liked that you ignored them. It really helps a lot. I’m sorry to hear you had to go through a match like that. It’s wishful thinking but I wish people would stop looking to blame others and instead look to better themselves by the mistakes they make. One day.

I’ve experienced this several times and understand how annoying it is. What if instead of what you suggest, they add a check box to the report menu that says “Add this player to your block list” so you can choose whether or not you’re willing to risk being matched with the player again.

Can't be done. Riot has already discussed why they are reserved in this sense, mainly because they do not want people having an easy "avoid" button to press anytime they feel and you just know that this function is not going to be used responsibly by the vast majority of the community. This kind of evasion of potential teammates would dramatically increase the queue times, in which the overall quality of matches would be drastically reduced because the matchmaking would intentionally match you with a wider variety of players below or above your ELO, in order for you not to wait in queue for hours on end.

Blizzard did this in Overwatch though but their "prevent matchmaking with blocked players" only extends to two people per player because they shared the same concerns Riot had in allowing the ever-expanding list of blocked players per player over time, to impact matchmaking in a negative way. They have also said they are monitoring this system closely and will reduce/increase the block list if that test proves positive or negative impact on matchmaking.

I certainly would be open to this idea in League but given that i'm way too trigger happy to mute/block people i genuinely dislike if they change their builds and then lose horribly, i am telling you that i would likely not be responsible enough to use this button. Two people blocked and avoided in matchmaking would likely not impact the queue times or quality of games that much but this is only from my own perspective. Multiply this list to thousands and thousands of players in the same/similar ELO and you get a matchmaking algorithm that needs to avoid minefields from multiple players, just to avoid blocked people on everyone's blacklist.

This feature cannot exist in League because players in Master/Challenger would then gain the ability to filter select players from their respective ladders. Imagine if you're in Challenger KR and you would eliminate Faker from your matchmaking by reporting him all the time?

As a fellow Platinum 2 player. I feel you. This Elo is filled with assholes that think they were LCS players in their past lives.

To be honest I really hate getting into a game lobby where one person says

Wow i'm qued with the shit x. great we gonna lose

Or something along those lines. It would be nice to completely stop these scenarios by mutes/blocks prevent this entirely. The benefit of this would increase que times of toxic players.

This was a thing before. You could report someone for "unskilled player" and they wouldn't show up in your future games. However this became a big problem in higher elos where people would report everyone that was better than them so they could easily climb in rank by dodging the good players. I see a possible solution to this in making it normals/low elo only, however this might still be exploitable.

I kept getting matched with the same malph main, we played in the same team atleast 3 matches and whenever anyone dodged we were put back on the same team.
