Is gold elo heaven?

Honest question.

Coming up through the ranks there was so much raging and trolling all through bronze and silver. People would go full tilt after a single kill and never took any responsibility for their mistakes. ADCs trying to win a melee fist fight with a bruiser. Assassins diving in 1v5 and then spam pinging ? when they get popped into 0.1 seconds. Top laners telling me to "stfu" when I ping danger because the jungler is coming to gank them, dying to said gank and then flaming their jungler for not ganking for them. Junglers farming for 20 minutes and then blaming their team for being behind. And don't get me started on the troll support picks who purposely steal CS from their ADC and never ward.

But as soon as I started playing with and against mostly gold players all that stopped. People actually said "mb" when they messed up and got killed. People actually listened to pings and moved from objective to objective. People joked and laughed and tried to build some comradery with the strangers they had been paired up with. Games were fun no matter if we won or lost because everyone was at least working together.

Strangely, my MMR for normal games somehow got so high that I play mostly against plat and low diamond now. What was even more hilarious is that the behavior I saw from bronze and silver players is identical to the behavior I see from a lot of plat and low diamond players. Raging, blaming your team, going for stupid outplays, purposely trolling after a couple deaths, AFKing, etc. Literally the only difference between my bronze/silver games and the plat/diamond games is that the plat and diamond players are better at CSing and have better mechanics. I can only imagine how bad it is in ranked if this is how people act in normals.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is gold the peaceful eye of the elo hurricane? Is it an oasis in the great salt desert of the rift? Does it get better in high diamond and above? Is it even worth it to climb higher than gold?

Elo heaven is when you mute all players pretty much. The majority of the problems come from players being overly toxic about things that mean almost nothing. But yeah, plat is going to be your second hell so be prepared if you continue to climb.

(It's not worth climbing this season, ranked has been quite devalued for now. Hopefully riot can take their heads out of their collective asses and fix it.)

Silver is horrible, gold is good, plat is beyond this world of toxicity.

Gold isnt much better than silver. Because in gold and Plat, people think theyre the 'Leaders' of the team, and know everything theyre supposed to do. "Im 3/8/0 but im gonna take charge guys, im smurf"

once you get past gold 5 maybe gold 4 when you stop being matched with silver 3-silver 1 players you get the 2 types of gold players. The god complex players and the players who want none of your shit and just want to play the game with good players

People are a lot more humble in gold it's nice. They know they are bad, but not as bad as a Bronzie. In Bronze and Silver everyone thinks they know every strat for the game and even worse, becoming closed minded and only knowing one strat.

A Bronze 4 ADC tried to argue with me that a support should never roam on another thread here. Just had me shaking my head.

Nice name, hah. I haven't found that gold is especially nice. I mean, I guess it seemed okay when my MMR wasn't trashed and I was getting matched up with upper gold/low plat players, but now it's just a cesspool of toxicity.

i can say without a doubt silver is heaven. i would kill to be silver. diamond is cancer and i wish i was just god awful. silver games are 10x more enjoyable.

Until you get to Diamond or so, your team is just a little less Bronze the higher you go.
