A friendly tip from someone who has been permabanned twice for "Trolling":
Now keep in mind that I write this not because I'm trying to excuse my behavior. Frankly, I don't particularly enjoy trolling people, but this playerbase is so provocative that I honestly can't help myself. I'm writing this post to help you people not get trolled by people like me. Ready?
Just shut the fuck up.
Why do I say that? Because literally every person I've ever trolled is someone who could not resist attacking me when I was already really irritated, either in chat or by ping spamming. If I'm already unhappy, the absolute worst thing you can do is antagonize me, especially if the reason I'm unhappy is because of something you're doing or not doing. If I've been stuck laning against a Teemo for 20 minutes and have gotten no help, the absolute last thing you should do is comment on how bad you think I am. This is doubly true if you happen to be our jungler in that situation. I hate the enemy for picking fuckface Teemo and I hate you for never helping me, and any flaming or blaming by you can easily push me over the edge and make me reconsider how much I want to win this game. And yes, while I could mute you, by the time I have to do that, I probably already hate you enough that I'm considering trolling.
This is a team game. Being on a team doesn't just mean we have the same goals. Teammates are also supposed to support one another, both physically and mentally. And I'm sorry, but if my "teammates" are spending a bunch of their energy fucking with me mentally through flaming and/or ping spamming, then as far as I'm concerned, we're not teammates anymore. The enemy team isn't flaming me or ping spamming me and you are, so as far as I'm concerned, I'm on their team now and you're my opponent.
But what about your other 3 teammates, you may ask? I do take them into consideration. I very rarely troll just because of one person. But when 3 people on my team all start piling on, you should be prepared to 4v5 the rest of the game while I farm jungle camps. Whether you like it or not, you're almost guaranteed to need my help to win this game. With that in mind, it is in your best interest to make sure I like you more than I like the enemy team. This really isn't that hard to do. Don't antagonize me when I'm already pissed off. It's really that simple. Every single person I've ever trolled has had multiple opportunities to salvage the situation and make me cooperative and they chose not to. I'm toxic, but I'm also only toxic in ways that are retaliatory. You have the power to stop this. Use it.
