It tells me a few things

  • riot has chat offenses essentially taken care of and is FINALLY trying to shift attention towards griefing and trolling
  • its harder for trolls to get banned if no one reports them, andthey don't want people to become afraid of reporting, so they got rid of report weight
  • by no longer banning people solely for asking for reports, it puts less strain on the system allowing REAL toxicity to be punished. it's the riot equivilent of marijuana legalization

They got rid of it because IFS accuracy made it unnecessary.

That isn't what Riot NaKyle was saying. Report begging is still considered harassment and can lead to a ban.
