Everyone pushes back against players who try to take a leadership role and make calls or warn of danger

But being an ass in chat is worse than useless, it's harmful. Lessens the likelyhood of teammates working with you, makes you and other people tilt worsening how well you play, and is more likely to cause people to start trolling you if they weren't already trolling you, and if they were trolling you they tend to just increase their efforts if they see it's having an effect.

Dunno if I agree. Had a rank match where Irelia was against nasus and kept dying or getting shoved out by ganks. So I asked him to switch me lanes and cheered him on. We ended up turning what Irelia was a loss into a win. Attitude plays a huge role in League.

Most toxics can't figure out the system.

If they were that good in figuring out how the system works, they wouldn't be banned in the first place.

Agree. All I ever do is try to be positive and helpful, but the vast majority of lower elo players are so jaded that they are insulted by literally everything and ruin ranked games because of it. It really brings me down, not because they play poorly, but because their attitudes ruin the game for everyone. Playing bad with a good attitude sucks, but at least I don't feel like I wasted my time trying to help you. I think the report system is severely flawed. I know with the sheer volume of players it's hard to contain, but I feel extremely as if the toxicity has grown exponentially in the past two years.

I feel your pain. It feels mostly useless to me, too. It's a problem inherent in team games...teams are made of people, and people are full of shit.

The handful of times where being positive has made a difference for me is vastly outweighed by the sea of instances were somebody just shat all over my struggling positivity, and then I feel stupid in addition to being angry.

The partial solution, for me, is to mute all at first sign of trouble, play for my own objectives, and understand I'm going to lose a bunch of games due to other people's stupidity...it's worth it to see how mad the enemy gets when there's the occasional win. X)
