How to avoid getting punished

Hello, as you can see from the image Im permanently suspended from LOL. I have 3 accounts closed/banned in ticket support and 3 accounts banned on the boards. Every punishment I got I have asked "why did I get punished?" I have never been given a direct answer from Riot and had to figure out the system/rules for myself.

I have broken down the system like this: Where do you get punished? In games only. In champion select and post-game chat you can say whatever you want, same with the private msgs ingame. Noone I have ever seen has been banned/punished for anything they said outside the game... I have screenshot from champion select where Nazi Germans talk about clensing the arian blood, they did not get punished.

When do I get punished? Within a few minutes after the system finds "trigger word(s)"

Wich words get me punished/flagged? Anything related to the following topic:

Giving up (ff, it's over,we cant win)

Verbal Abuse: This is a tricky one. You are not allowed to tell another summoner how to play the game. You are not allowed to say another summoners champions name (This is targeting and something I was permanently suspended for). You are not allowed to tell a summoner about mechanics of the game (zoning as an example) Reportcalling goes under this subject. You are also not allowed to repeat yourself as rito flags this as "spam". Dont say for example "yes" twice as this is spam according to riot.

Harassment: This is pretty straight forward, you are not allowed to say anything that anyone can feel offended by. If anyone feels offended by anything you said they have the right to report you and the report is valid. The one who feels offended have the soul translation of the incident. (this means that if I get offended by you greeting me, I can report you and you can get punished)

Feeding: This is basically if you have 10 more deaths then kills you have "intentionally fed" in a game. (Riot-Tantram said that I had intentionally fed the enemy in my games, I dont believe so but I have had games with bad stats)

AFK: You have to finish the game no matter what. No excuse is valid (I have 2 punishments for "leaverbuster" , Once due to a fire in the apartment complex and one for an urgent doctors call I got)

List of words that will trigger the system and flag you as a toxic player: gg izi/easy/ez (harassment) Give up (not allowed to give up) ff (not allowed to give up) report (Not allowed to report call) Ward this/here (not allowed to tell a player what to do) Gank my lane (not allowed to tell a player what to do) Help me (not allowed to tell a player what to do) "how old are you?" (Verbal abuse as it is not gamerelated) More to come, feel free to give suggestions.

It's important to note that these chats ARE reportable, and do show to Riot -- they just don't show up in the chat logs.

While your presumptions are mostly wrong, I will agree with you that repeated use of “easy”, giving up attitude, or repeated telling people what to do are considered negative. Further, if your “telling them what to do” is in an abusive manner, it’s prohibited.

However, the system does not operate on keywords. It operates on linguistic analysis. It is not a “search and find”, it is an artificial neural network that analyzes the chat to determine a confidence level that it is negative/prohibited/should be punished. Over time, people get punished for behavior that is consistently negative.

Some of the other things you say that are incorrect:

Pre/post game chat is examined by the IFS (which issues chat punishments), but it’s not displayed in reform cards because it is stored differently (due to being from the air client and not the game client). You can be punished for solely being negative/toxic in pre/post game chat.

Private messages are not generally considered because they’re considered a voluntary part of the game - you can block someone from your friend’s list, but you can’t block them from being matched with you in queue.

AFK - you don’t get punished for 1 game. LeaverBuster does not punish for one game. It punishes for patterns of leaving. This means, if you afk/left games before they were over out of rage/spite, then had a real emergency, it may have been issued after the emergency, but if you hadn’t left games before, you wouldn’t have been punished.

"don't be a dick" no reason to read any of this. It's really that simple.

I was debating going through your post and answering one at a time, but that seems tedious and pointless, so instead I will simply say this: Context matters, and the IFS knows that. I have never been punished, and in fact currently have Honor 5. Of your list of "trigger words" I have said all of them on many occasions, except for "gg ez" which never has any positive value.

Honestly, just communicating with people the way you would acquaintances sitting in the same room with you is all most people need to not get punished, but if you actually need a breakdown of what to do, I can do that for you.

In a neutral game (no one is already tilted, argumentative, trolling, or anything of the sort):

  1. Avoid pointless criticism. Examples of pointless criticisms include: Stop feeding, should have warded, jungler never ganks, etc. This sort of criticism adds no value to the game and annoys the player being criticized.
  2. If you wish to lead, communicate in concise, tone neutral directives. Examples: Let's baron, Ward red, No flash mid, gank please.
  3. As an addendum to #2, if people don't follow you, LET IT GO. Clearly you haven't established yourself as "the leader" of your team. No amount of chatting at them will fix this.

In a game that has gone negative: 0. NEVER ARGUE WITH SOMEONE IN THE GAME OVER ANYTHING. DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'RE RIGHT.

  1. Make 1 (one, singular) attempt to diffuse the situation. Example: Oops, my bad, should have tried to gank sooner.
  2. If #1 fails, say you've muted them, but don't actually do it. Often they'll stop if no one is listening. They might have something positive to say later on.
  3. If #2 fails, actually mute them.
  4. If you had to do more than #1, report after the game. Don't mention you're reporting. Don't ask for reports. Just do it.

If you follow these simple instructions, I guarantee you don't get penalized.
