Question for Riot

Now I am a mild rager. I great pretty upset from playing league and I've had bad days. However, I always try and keep it off the rift and just try and joke in chat, even if I am burning with rage outside game. RIP many good keyboards

Sometimes I am pretty petty in games, but it happens to the best of us. Afterwards I feel pretty bad and worry that maybe I will be hit with a strike. Now that would be upsetting.

I've never received a ban and I really don't want to. What I want to know is if there is any way to tell if their has been reports put at me after games or not? I see all these permabans and I know you typically get warnings prior to it but I am not sure how the system works in general. Maybe it's just because I have forgotten how it all works after like 4 years but I wouldn't mind being updated or at least know a bit better if I did get some reports my way. Unlikely to happen but when you are bronze trash in plat you never know.

They don't want to show whether you were reported anymore because then you'd be able to "Abuse the system" or some shit. Makes no fuckin sense, idk why they ever took it away, you would think they'd want the player to know what is deemed acceptable behaviour in league, as it is a lot more strict than most other games.

I mean yeah. I would much rather know if I am doing something wrong then just get a random punishment out of the blue. Even if it's small shit, I'd like to know ahead of time.

well, if you take what you did or said in game and do the exact same thing in real life to real people, if it gets you a punch to the face, then it will more than likely gets you in league as well. If you think telling COMPLETE STRANGERS to kill themselves or use any of the racial slurs in real life will not result in you being punched, then you'd have something to argue about your "arbitrary" punishment.

well yeah I know to avoid that. I wouldn't say that to anyone in person but I may curse them in my bedroom to a watery grave. Keeping the salt off the rift best I can.

They can't show you when you are reported because then players are able to weed out which phrases do not get them valid reports and abuse that. I know it seems silly that you can't know if you do something wrong, but there have been cases in the past where people have tried to identify "trigger phrases" and then change how they talk so that they don't include those phrases and are able to be toxic without punishment.

I mean there is a feel for how phrasing a sentence can work. I"ve seen clear bans from people that were not using any key words, but just the way they were talking and their phrasing what they were saying that lead to their ban. They don't just ban for bad words, trigger phrases, etc but general tone and feel of what the person is doing.

I'd say a 10 game chat restriction is a pretty good warning, not to mention they include your chatlogs with the restriction.

Also, it's pretty self explanatory, but many players seem to skip this step: go read the summoners code.

I mean how many people actual know the code even exists nowadays? I only just found it again today and that was from some looking around.

You're right, maybe riot should just make the summoners code a popup every time someone logs in, then there's no excuse of not having seen it.

Or have it just be more visible. Hell even just referencing it as much. It's a very general ruleset but it's what Riot follows. Not being able to very easily see it is silly.

But seriously, when you sign up for an account, this is the contract you adhere to.

Under part 5 it states you must adhere to the summoners code in order to keep your profile in good standing with the terms of use. Failure to do so can risk the loss of said account.

You can also find the Summoner's Code in full detail if you go to Settings where it has the Summoner's Code agreement. Seriously there is a lot of stuff I am reading that is shocking me. Like if I knew a lot of this stuff I would have probably avoid doing it. RP and all the skins you own only being things you rent for example. I wouldn't have spent a dime on league if I knew about that. This kind of stuff should really be highlighted for players.

There is hundreds of thousands of players like me though, that do their due diligence, they read and follow the rules every day. Our accounts are never at risk because we understand the repercussions and adjust our behavior to stay in the lines. You may not realize it, but people that get chat restrictions and bans are the minority, but there is a very large silent majority.

I mean that's hard to say. I would say the people that get the chat restrictions and bans would have gotten them regardless if they knew this stuff. I would say, just from looking at all this information, that a good portion of the community doesn't know a lot of this. Mostly in regards to the terms of service stuff.
