Why is this not an automatic ban?

When someone says "I'm afk" because someone isn't playing how they want, and then leaves/sits in base, why is this not an automatic ban? They're literally saying it in chat so Riot can't pull ANY excuses.

"Our chat filter works great for instant reports because it can detect certain words"

IS AFK NOT ONE OF THEM???

Because you can't actually tell if they're joking or not. I have a lot of friends that will say.. miss a couple of easy farm, or an enemy escapes with an itty bitty sliver of health.. they say 'I'm afk' but don't stop playing. It's just a joke.

Nothing is black and white when it's typed and you don't know the meaning behind it.

Well, some games are loss at the 10 minute mark when every lane fed massively and there's no point to keep on playing. I rarely do it but i'm not going to waste time on a 100% loss when i could be doing other, more fun things.

The biggest issue comes when people who avandon easily and those who ''never surrender'' clash together. It's annoying when allies won't surrender, and enemy is just messing around instead of closing the game.

If you afk or inten feed like once every hundred games you probably wont get punished. Otherwise riot will probably ban way too many accounts. Also, should riot punish these people regardless of game mode or do they prioritize ranked more than the other game modes? I think in order to keep things simple they only punish those who repeatedly ruin games (like maybe once every dozen games or some sort of metric like that). Also, if someone admits to afking and actually does afk they usually get placed in a "special" queue where there is an added 5 minute waiting time before entering the actual queue. I know because I've experienced it twice before. It usually happens when I afk or DC more than once in a row or within a few games.

Doing it once has no punishment and the reason is probably because what if that person DC'd or had some IRL issue to resolve and they had to physically leave their computer? If the person does this repeatedly then riot can eliminate the possibility of these outside factors and determine if you are afking on purpose. Even if someone types in "i'm afk" in chat the reason may be one of the 2 I said so a one time incident will not cause a punishment.
