step 1. download autohotkey https://autohotkey.com/

step 2. create the following script

#ifwinactive League of Legends (TM) Client *Enter::return *NumpadEnter::return

step 3. keep said script loaded

step 4. go into your config file and find the text that says "chatscale" set the number next to it to -150 if the text isnt there. load a custom game. and edit chat scaling. it will force it to appear. do the same with "persisted settings"

congratulations. you have successfully 100% disabled in game chat. you can also "pop into chat" to see if you need to report anyone by clicking the chat scaling bar and then pressing cancel

That's not a totally good idea. Using scripting, modifying in-game interactions, and then not communicating with team are all bannable offenses.

If you have that bad of a problem being toxic, just go into the Riot folder and find d3dx9_39.dll or d3dx9_43.dll and delete it. It will prevent you from ever being toxic in a game, guaranteed.

Editing config files for things like this (doesn't give an unfair gameplay advantage in any way) is ok, not communicating with the team through chat is not a punishable offense, and simply changing your hotkeys is fine too ('scripting' is not limited to dodge scripts etc. that are actually bannable).

They have said "editing your files could falsely trigger the system", but I've only seen one person be flagged for a ban, it was removed, and he had actually changed his aspect ratio which is borderline or arguably against the rules. I myself have edited my files many times, mostly for testing things to help others.

im talking about the autohotkey script unbinding my enter key while league is running. not the editing of my game file.

just to confirm. the unbind enter script wont get me banned?

Editing config files is indeed completely okay. I do that. Especially to Copy/Paste from computer to computer.

Using a script to do it might have the risk of flagging, a nuisance not worth having.

The script in question. doesn't edit my game file. It just unbinds my enter key while the game is loaded. And im more likely to trust deep terror nami's word than some guy who basically told me to uninstall

C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config Just open .cfg files in notepad and you should be good. Editing them is a little tricky because of the language, but once you understand the lingo, you're golden.

I'm very strongly against the use or proliferation of the use of macros, scripts, etc, which can get players banned. Even when the intention was well meant, and not targeted.

i already edited my config file. to remove the chatbox. the script literally just keeps me from pressing enter

can someone explain to me what this does? i have a feeling this is an "alt f4" troll

That's what it looks like. dll files are important and you won't be able to play the game without the proper ones.

i just googled it. and this guy needs to have his comment deleted. one dll is the one that launches the game. the other is the one that lets you uninstall. someone could get the wrong idea and do that. and screw themselves over

d3dx9_39.dll is an older DirectX9 file that is included in almost any newer Direct X download. The game would not start if this particular one was missing. If I have mislead you, please, do not delete this file. You really need it. If by any chance you ever need it, go to Microsoft, download the End-Time user application verson of DirectX 9, unzip, and copy paste whatever you need. This will work for any program needing a .dll file. Direct X 9 officially ended on September 2014, but Riot still uses it for critical things like game start up and effects.

As for your post, I would never recommend scripting. You run the risk of being flagged. There are edits that allow interactions that are unintended, you would be held accountable for this. Riot is just as unforgiving against 3rd Party Applications as they are the most toxic players of the community in issuing outright bans.
