context DOES matter in certain situations a few examples.

  • insulting an enemy champion. but in team chat.

  • quoting someone using slurs

  • lying about another person's chat to the enemy team trying to get them reported for hate speech

  • /all : Open mid "the entire team consents"

they won't do that...they hide under the guise of "you own your own actions" while hiding how bad you may have been abused, goaded, trolled etc. Releasing full game transcripts is at natural odds with riot's "bend over and take it" policy.

A) Still a pretty shitty thing to do, but I suppose it's not really banworthy.

B) Just don't do that? If you really need to say that someone else is using slurs, just say 'they're using slurs'. And honestly you don't even need to do that.

C) Even if they get reported for hate speech, the automated system would check to see if they actually said hate speech. If they didn't, it's not a problem.

D) If the entire team consented to opening mid, would you get reported for it?

Nope. Context explains the "why" of your chat. It does not relate to whether what you said should be punishable.
