14 day bans for inting

this should not happen. if i had my way, if someone is 100% proven to have inted. they should be instantly permabanned the same as hatespeech.

DISCLAIMER. this is assuming they have actually been caught

The problem is unlike a sporting event, there isn't a referee. So a computer has to make the calls.

On topic, I think that a perma ban first offense is too harsh even if intent is established. New players may not know that it is unacceptable here unlike other games they have played and won't know any better. Yes they should read ToS and guidelines and everything but not everybody is going to read all of that to play a game.

To me, a 14 day ban for a game of intentional feeding feels sufficient. They should still have the opportunity to fix themselves.

However, if they are reviewed and it's discovered that they have done this repeatedly and were getting away with it, I think immediately escalating them to a permaban is not uncalled for. Getting really mad in one game and saying "fuck this I want it over ASAP" is one thing, and going into several games with the intention to do this is another.

My argument for it being a permaban. Is

A. "Hate speech" is escalated to a permaban from tier zero often after just one game. Yet people who use slurs can STILL be muted just like "regular" toxic chat . You can't stop an intentional feeder. Im under the belief that feeding should at the very least have the same punishment

B. BECAUSE it takes so long for them to get caught. When the system "or a rioter" finally says theyre inting. I feel an instant permaban is warranted based on that alone

i suppose MAYBE if they did it in a normal game. a 14 day ban would be sufficient. however AT THE VERY LEAST for ranked. it should be no questions asked permaban unless the entire team agrees to "open mid"

I don't think that punishments should be separated by queue. Doing so would cause people in the queues that treat punishments lighter to think less of the action itself, causing it to happen more often.

Also, I would call a lot of the people who have gotten to 30 and into ranked new as well, but that could just be because of how much I have played XD Maybe if we were talking specifically about plat+ people who obviously know what is up with the game but then we are talking about a super small portion of the community.

Im under the belief that isn't true.toxicity in normals would stay more or less the same. Im honestly a proponent of doubling punishment tiers for ranked across the board and the fact of the matter is. Once you go into ranked queues. The game becomes a sport. And therefore SHOULD be treated more seriously

The other night I was in my promos and had a teammate get his champ banned so he declared he was going to run it down mid. Oh boy did he ever. To the tune of 0/27/0. He was first blooded around the 30 second mark or so. We actually hung in there quite a while despite playing a 4 v 6 game.

With that said, I think an instant permaban is too harsh. Sadly, this player did not get ANY punishment as he continued to play match after match, but I feel like a 14 day ban would have been on point.

I think the more important thing is being able for the system to correctly identify inting. With a harsher punishment, it would probably be even more gun shy to trigger bans due to the harshness.

It's almost impossible to prove that somebody is inting because like some of the board mods and others think that "They are just having a bad game" but as long as they are nice they can go 0/10 all day and ruin game after game. Sad that you have to post vids to youtube and hope they get enough play to get punishments for an act that ruins more games than toxic players do.

Because people screw up, and do stupid shit. Nothing short of trying to actually destroy Riot's servers could warrant an instant permaban. Even hate speech is typically, for a first offense, only a 14 day. A permaban over one game? One game someone might have simply been unbelievably tilted in?

The purpose of Riot's system is to discourage bad behavior and to encourage reform. Instantly swinging the ban hammer is a terrible way to get reform to happen.

I'm relatively sure that, as I said in my original comment, for a first time offense, even hate speech is only a 14 day ban.

And, as @DeepTerrorNami said, sometimes you just get matched with assholes, and you feed just so that it's over sooner. Is it stupid? Yeah. But it's also understandable. I've been sorely tempted to AFK at times, just because it was already a foregone conclusion, and because my teammates were assholes. So I can understand that, in some cases.

But, since you're relating it to hate speech, I'm going to point out that calling someone a ••• or •••••• is NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES excusable, understandable, or anything of the sort, while, as I've said, it is sometimes understandable as to why someone may int.

FACT. Muting an intentional feeder won't make them stop.

This is why support automatic permabans for int. At the very least for ranked

Well. The "sometimes understandable " argument works for slurs as well. Some people come from places where its still socially acceptable to use those words. And see riot's stance as simply "SJW culture" and frankly i agree. Calling someone the N word is fundamentally no different then calling someone retarded.

And conversely. A person using "PC" insults doesnt make them any less insulting. The ONE time i agree that chat should have escalation is "kill yourself "

I agree. If you are level 1 and the first thing you do since the game started is run down mid, you should be instantly perma'd. However if you show signs of playing normally at the start and then you start inting due to other circumstances, 14 day ban to give player chance to reform is fine
