**Hello. I just received some chat restricted games as a punishment. I logged in again to my account to see the chat logs but there was nothing wrong with them. Nothing offensive, toxic or negative.

I would appreciate anyone who is willing to read the below Great Wall of.... text! of my chat logs that were sent in my client. If somehow i am wrong and i do deserve punishment and later permanent ban with this behavior please explain it to me. i am only trying to be helpfull and a nice summoner.

According to these chat logs, there were these couple of games where some players didnt seem to fully know how the report/behavior system works. Besides that, they also thought that things like playing bad, dying more than 3 times in the game, and going duo top in normal games deserves ban. And they also were very offensive and insulting towards me. They said some very bad things to me (worse was wishing me cancer), but neverthless i didnt fight fire with fire. I was trying to warn them and inform them that their behavior is not acceptable and that they should not flame, i was trying to be helpfull, good and respectful untill the end of those games.

Chat logs sent to my clients. ( i pressed Copy text button ) I understand now that some of you may not believe them. but the window in client would take about 30~ screenshots or so to capture all that. so im willing to do that only if a rioter asks me to. sorry :c

You're not supposed to spend all game arguing in chat. It's negative, unsportsmanlike, and unnecessary. If someone asks to report you or wants to argue with you, you mute and move on.

why would arguing in a polite way be punishable? arguments provoke conversations and conversations inform, educate and help people communicate, learn new things and exchange ideas. i was only trying to help others.

when you encounter a player flaming, will you not tell him that flaming is no good thing and that he should stop it ?

keep your hands on qwer and not on your whole keyboard. you and the other guy lose focus. you can argue after game. and yes when i have a flamer in team i will tell him that if he wants to win he should focus and stop flame. if he keep flaming, i just mute him why should i lose my focus and waste my time on this guy when i should be farming?

what if we prefer to discuss things rather than try and win ? not everyone plays to win the game. ppl play for fun. especially in normal under-leveled games. ( i dont say i ge tinto game and i want to lose though :) i just mean i won't tryhard) but anyway, you dont say what i did that deserves punishment. you say it is best to focus on winning the game rather than chatting.

if your whole team likes to argue thats fine. but the majority of the lol community thinks its annoying. (thats why the system considers it as 'wrong' aswell)

mute and/or the chatfilters are usefull. but not an excuse to break rules. you can chat as much as you want, as long as you dont "fight" with someone else.

well, lets say i was fighting in 1st game. look the 3rd game for example. i didnt fight with anyone. i said what i needed to say once! then i proceeded with muting those who kept flaming and arguing. what did i do wrong there ?

announcing to mute someone does the same as asking/announing to report. it creates a negative atmosphere. you think when you tell someone reported/muted he will calm down? he is already mad so that just makes him more mad.

btw even if your behavior was perfect in game 3, you still messed up in game 1 and 2

you are telling me that, if we had the old tribunal, and you saw in the chat that all of my teamates were bullying me, harassing me, calling me retard, idiot, imbecile, fucktard, and they were wishing me cancer, and then you saw my chat, you would press PUNISH and not PARDON ? and why ? because i mutecalled ? which is not even punishable like reportcalling ? because i asked about this. declaring you are going to mute some1 is not punishable and it has nothing to do at all with reportcalling.

yes. if YOU are in front of the tribunal its about YOUR chat. this is how the tribunal worked and this is how the system now works. if it just so happend that the next case would be one of your teammates i would punish them aswell for flaming.

as far as i know mutecalling is also just adding to a toxic atmosphere and thus negative. not sure if you can get banned for it tbh.

i would punish whoever breaks the rules and is the "target" in the case. no matter the reasons. i play since season 2 and in s3 i played top thresh and i carried with him still i got flamed a ton for "trolling" etc. i just muted and reported.

a community volunteer, specialized within Player Behaviour said in euw forums that mutecalling is NOT punishable and it has nothing to do with reportcalling. he indeed said that sometimes mutecalling tends to escalate the situation, but it can also have the opposite effect and i can say why. because it shows when some1 crossed the line. it also informs flamer that he is going to talk to a wall, so in most cases he stops chatting. informing that you are going to mute some1 in fact also benefits you and your team, because the flamer will stop bullying/flaming you in every mistake you make, and so the chat calms and so does the rest of your team.

SO, i am pretty sure noone would punish my chat logs because there is nothing wrong with them.

Are considered as flame. For the rest of your chat you really talk too much, the chat is used to communicate important stuff related to the game not to argue with anybody that flames nor to have long discussion. Really stop what you're doing, even if you don't flame you make all your team to mute you because they ended up exhausted from reading. (Please don't take my comment as an offence, I wanted to give you an external opinion).

I don't think these rules are updated btw, it's a thread of 3 years ago - maybe something has changed (like the tribunal that doesn't exist anymore for example)

(i could say got rekt but thats not the point) anyway have you heard that case, when the bot system had just came out, where some1 wwas typiing in chat "idiot/retard" etc all the time and he got perma banned, and he sent a ticket to support and it turned out he was calling himself these things and they pardoned him and he helped them make even better the system ? when u say things to yourself you cannot get punished.

You are bickering with your team the entire game and egging them on. I also found it pretty amusing that you said in one of the games that asking for reports is punishable and pointless but you did it yourself in that same game.

i didnt do the same... they were asking from our opponents in all chat to report me. what i did in the 1st game was to say "udyr reported". thats not the same. i said that to let him know that he crossed the line. i didnt threat him with reports nor did i ask some1 else to report him.

and maybe you are right about the 1st game. i kept arguing on the same thing even if they werent eager to listen and even if they kept flaming me. but the rest 2 games, especially the 3rd (didnt read the 2nd xd), i dont do that. i say what i have to say once, and then i muted whoever was toxic. read my 3rd game and tell me what i did wrong and why i deserve punishment....

Saying you are reporting someone is basically the same thing. It is just using it as a way to get a jab in. If nothing else it is inflamitory.

Not really sure what to tell you about game 3, it isn't any different than the others. You are just going on and on about the report system to someone who it seems like doesn't care. How much of the negativity in those games could have been avoided if you just muted those people?

Keep in mind, if someone has to use the mute against another person, the damage is done already.

You probably know that already since you know that when you've decided to mute someone, they are already guilty of toxic / passive aggressiveness.

First of all, none of that was polite, it was all inflammatory. Second of all, the point of the chat feature is to help people work together to win the game. That's it. All of the chat you typed was completely irrelevant to that. Arguing doesn't only make it less fun for the other people, it distracts from the actual point of the game.

To your second question, absolutely not. If someone is flaming, you mute him. Attention is exactly what the flamer wants. Remind your team that you still care about winning (by calling dragon times, saying where you're going, when your summs are up, etc) , or if you're too tilted, just say nothing. You don't need to respond to people in the chat.

asking for reports is when you say in (usually all chat) chat "report X player please/x9 X player/ all report X for Y reason" (i know that the above is punishable and pointless because one report has the same value as 9. so if you are going to report some1 yourself there is no reason in asking others to do the same thing.) and no i dont think i did the same. i said "udyr reported" because a second earlier he wished cancer to my whole family tree and i think he should know that that specific action of his crossed the line. i didnt ask others to report him and i didnt threaten him that i would report him if for example he didnt give me blue buff or camp my lane or something.

Not so much of "you are reported" or "you are muted". While I do agree with educating others on the reporting system, the way you do it is so annoying. Saying it once is enough, no need to keep repeating it.

There are lots of ways to say things, "muted because you are passive aggressive" and "sorry, I'm going to mute you and focus on the game", both means "you've crossed the line" but one sounds like an attack and the other sounds much less offensive.

Tbh I agree you don't really deserve the punishment. I mean the "reported" is a bit toxic, but I feel recently League punishment system is a bit too harsh.

I've done some digging and if this is still valid, then indeed one game shouldn't be enough, if there are really no other and one didn't use some really strong words. Check 25th and 27th note.

One piece of advice I can offer is not to tell people you're muting them, but to just do it. When they realize you've muted them, they'll go into all chat and start flaming you to the enemy team, but you won't see it, and it won't affect you. However, the enemy team will most definitely report them.

well, i dont like doing that. its not right. how would you feel if you were talking to the wall. i always declare it when i mute some1. he wont spam the chat with toxicity anymore. that also helps my teamates. but anyway, you got a tip there. yeah. but you dont say what i did that deserves punishment and that if i keep doing it i will get permanently banned at the end.

I don't play the game to police it, I play the game to have fun and win. If someone is flaming me, that's not fun, and I will mute them. I don't talk to walls, nor do I give reasons to people to put up their walls. I've seen cases where someone on my team is getting flamed, and the victim says, "I'm muting you because you are toxic," and then the flamer says, "Mute me, p****. lol this community is soft! garbage kids will be garbage." Telling someone you're muting them only escalates the situation further. League isn't real life. You can actually just ignore the bully on League. You'll probably never match with them again.

This is far better than some of the things I've seen, so I'm sorry to hear you were banned. However, I'm not at the point of disagreeing with it. You didn't have to continually tell them they'd get in trouble for flaming/false reports/etc. You could have completely muted and ignored them and just played the game normally. Instead of spending time, maybe focus more on just playing. And if it's really a problem, just report them at the end. No point in chatting about it throughout the entire game.
