im offline at the moment due to my internet connection in my new place not being stable enough to play league, but i felt i could still be active on the boards, but i thought i'd like to have a discussion on what i feel is one of the most polarizing topics on the board. muting all, and whether or not it's healthy for the game. im not judging people's reasons for doing it or not doing it. but i would like to have a serious discussion on the impact of/mute all. and whether riot should be encouraging it, discouraging it, or remaining neutral. keep in mind, im not talking about muting in general. im solely talking about players who automute from the start.

do we as a community want a silent game where no one talks outside of premades. or or do we want people using the chat as intended

im in no way suggesting people should be banned for using /mute all, but i feel serious discussions should be made on how it impacts your team. league is a team game after all.

Did you know, you can now just flat out disable Ally Chat like you can All chat?

It's the same as people who choose to say nothing all game. Chat is a feature that's available for use. It's not a requirement.

I think its unhealthy in some ways and healthy in others. No a-days in league its hard to not run into a BM of some kind, im almost all of my last 10 game 1 person did flame. I like to see myself as mentally sound, but even I cant deal with the toxicity of league; I think unless people want to more or less deal with getting flamed you should /mute all. Now in a perfect world, there would be no flaming or toxicity and people WOULD use chat as intended but, that wont happen.
