The Player Behavior And Moderation Section

So I want to start a debate here about something regarding this section of the boards.

Do you feel this section of the boards is somewhat cruel? I mean you could look at this section of the boards like you would look at a mental correctional prison facility trying to reform inmates. Well, the inmates are being studied daily with the exception these people on the boards are not locked up in prison, and are not in solitary confinement. However, I think you could link the two and two together because this section of the boards is made to help reform people, or for people to complain about their punishment. Some seek advice, some seek reform, some just want to complain, and we study them and more often than not, everyone here does not go easy on the offender.

We know they broke the rules as the League System barely fails when it punishes a player. 99% of the time, the punishment was justified. We can see that as "normal" humans as the offender who got punished is still lost and needs reformed to be fully functional and understanding. For example, you see players posting their reform cards that consist of the chat logs from some of the previous toxic games they have had, maybe even one game or so, and the player swears it isn't toxic, BUT IT IS. We know it is before the player even posts the reform card, so it does little use for that player as he will be roasted by the community here who are more harder than Judge Judy. A

I feel that it's sorta cruel that this section of the board exists. Riot already gives stats of players who are not abusive win most of their games in the loading screens between matches. Riot also has it's TOS to read through, so it should be more so common sense to the player. However, I digress, I think this section of the boards is cruel for those who got punished. We treat them like animals in a way, and are thirsty to hear the next poor guys complaint.

I think we can do without this section of the boards really, but this is the most entertaining section out of them all because it's funny to sit and read someone who hasn't a clue why they were punished when it's clear as day as to why they were, especially when they sit there and paste their chat logs.

I realize that this section is more than just people complaining, it's also for people trying to reach out saying hey "the system works, I got one banned, thank you riot!" Yeah, we all know it works, even a blind folded stevie wonder stuck in his moms basement knows it works. Yet these inmates do not. We roast them and the evaluation and advice by some of these people leaving comments is of no good, and not positive for them to read. Some are, but the majority is just Judge Judy's hitting them with the hammer.

Is that really necessary? To go hard on in-reform state player? To have them come here to be judged by Judge Judy's who already know the player is toxic?

Yes. People get banned in games, every game. We do not need the section as proof. Also you can look at the post chat restriction process, and ban-ment as a parole because now you got some paranoid, and some with the back of that in their mind that if they screw up, they will be punished, maybe more severe.

DEBATE!!!

I think this section is actually fairly important, though I frequently lurk here so I clearly have some degree of bias there. Of course it isn't without problems.

Part of the problem is that a lot of the people come here too late. They wait for a permaban to drop in to figure out what they did wrong. This could help them do better if they started a new account, but it also means they're going to be feeling negative going into the new account to begin with, because they just lost a lot of hard work on their previous account.

Another problem is the culture that has formed here, which kind of started back in the days of the Pendragon smites, followed by Lyte smites. They became a spectacle. People show up just to watch the train wreck, so to speak. And a lot of these sorts of people post in what I would consider to be a negative way to begin with. Like if somebody just posts "good riddance" in response to a permanent ban. It doesn't matter if the person even deserved the ban, they also deserve to still be treated decently on the boards and to get a reasonable explanation for their ban.

And honestly? A lot of people who come here to complain aren't really open to advice on how to fix their behavior. They don't accept that what they're doing is against the rules, no matter how much it is explained. They just want to complain about the system.

But even with all the problems, I've seen good things come out of this section. I've seen people who are genuinely searching for advice on how to avoid a permanent ban after they finish serving. I try my best to help these people when I can. Even for all the players just coming here to complain, if just one person actually takes the advice given here to heart and does manage to reform, it's worth it.

Personally, I think this place is unnecessary for the most part. Most players who get banned and come here act like they didn't see it coming, how it wasn't their fault, or how things should be different and what they did is fine, I can't tell if they honestly think this is true or not, but that is how it goes. What this place should be is a place to help players before they get to permaban state reform and understand what they are doing is wrong, and it is instead a toxic cesspool where said toxic players circlejerk and blame others for their irrational amounts of rage.

"It isn't us who should be banned, but trolls." Yeah ok, this is true, but most of the people, especially people who get permabanned don't get trolls every game, instead they get players who are doing bad and making mistakes and flip out on them immediately and treat them like shit and overall make the game unenjoyable and then in turn do the same, but then act like their way of saying and doing things is ok, when it isn't.

"Well, I'm just gonna troll now because that is obviously ok." Which in turn just feeds more into the problem and creates of the exact same thing they hate, P.S, if you do this, you are beyond stupid.

I don't even like the current system, I think it will forever be subpar to the Tribunal. While I don't believe anyone who gets permabanned actually deserves more chances or didn't deserve to be such, I do feel like there will be cases were people are ganged up upon, and targetted and an automated system can't recognize that. However, I know that those cases are far and few between.

All and all, I want this place to be a forum to help people understand the system, and realize that not everyone who has a bad game is trolling and simple has a bad game, but most toxic players simply don't understand that. That being said, I'm off to work.
