This is a serious question, I've heard people who were never warned, never chat restricted, and probably wasn't toxic in general get banned, just because they had a really bad game and flamed. I don't know Riot's stance since there's really no way to see how close a player is to getting in trouble, which I find quite dumb. I don't know if it's happened to anyone before.

What happens when you get players that sit idle in spawn AFK'ing, like a previous game I had. Our team Nasus had a 0/2/1 KDA and 8 cs after the game ended.
How can I react positively when I get players in ranked that say I will feed and actually carries it out?
Saying these players get punished does absolutely nothing, I could bring up his name right now and find dozens of games like this. Riot does not care as long as you don't state your intent.

Just report and move on. Having a vendetta against them does nothing for you, and it is not your job to see that they are punished. Just mute, report, and move on with your life.
Mig891 votesReporting in the automated system only checks chat. Getting reported once or 9 times just flags the game to review chat for that person. There's no report weight or anything like that. The system doesn't care who said what to who. Context doesn't matter. If you get reported it checks your chat and your chat only so if you say something report worthy, the system catches it and punishment is dished out. Manual reports by rioters are another story

Yes people need warnings. 1) no one knows anything inherently, everything is taught. 2) we wouldn't have to study law or have ANY CRIME in the world if what you and riot say is true. This is absolutely backwards thinking. The zero tolerance policy is not a good idea. What do homophobes and riot have in common? zero tolerance. What do riot games and terrorists have in common? zero tolerance. It's interesting how apparently liberal seeming riot is, yet is so extreme. They also said that my acts of good behaviour (all the honours) in the game does not outweigh my one offence. Sounds very extreme to me, almost like something an ISIS member would say before they behead me. I'm bi and used a homophobic slur in anger. Context is important there. It's like sending every black person to jail for saying '%%%%%'. Have you ever heard of anger management? People do things they wouldn't otherwise do unless they're raging. Anger management works on a warning system and noticing behaviours to stop them before they go too far. Riots policy here doesn't reinforce or condone good behaviour, but only focuses on bad aspects which is highly negative considering I said it once out of 2 years of playing. Dota actually measures your level of negativity in comparison to your positivity and judges you thusly. Riot looks at one game and says 'you're always like this. you're toxic.' Even though the evidence doesn't support their view. This is just ridiculous. I went straight from a 10 game chat ban to a perma ban. No email warning. No temporary ban. No more chat bans. (all of which is in their policy for punishments) If riot doesn't follow their own policies, they can't expect people to follow their summoner code. That is just ludicrous. I wasn't given the fair treatment of being warned- which is their STATED POLICY. They can't say 'We feel that players don't need warnings' I'm sorry but your feelings are irrelevant where objective facts are concerned.

Except this isnt law, it is Riot's game, they make up the rules, you much follow them. You dont like it, by all means go find a game where you can use Slurs all you want. Riot has stated their stance and neither of it is ok. Just the same as if you went to a store, or restaurant. Do you believe theyll give you a warning when you start screaming out Slur? In most cases no, theyll just throw you out because as an Adult you should know better! If you are with friends its a difficult story, but your friends wouldn/shouldnt be reporting you, If its in a public match, then you have to make the decision if its worth your account.

Baka Red1 votesThe answer to the question in the subject is "Yes you can be banned, if you flame badly enough." You can get permanently banned for the first ever offense if the flaming can be considered hate speech/racial slurs/death threat etc. I recommend "mute" instead - and not listening to all chat in the first place.

Baka Red1 votesSorry, Riot works in mysterious ways. I don't know how. Pretty much all I know about those punishments is that you "can be" permanently banned for your behavior in one match. The probability of that happening is .. mysterious. I prefer to go for the safe option and behave. Behaving isn't that difficult to me. :)

I remember when LYTE would SMITE all those would-be one ban wonders. More often than not people are lying when they say they got banned for one bad game

I know some folks think they are crazy tough but I have never in my life, even in sports, heard players talk to each other like that. There was a pitcher in baseball that went off once, he's not a pro pitcher anymore. Just don't flame. It isn't going to help and some folks really don't like people that do flame in the community. Remember most folks are banned by the tribunal. That's your community deciding they don't want you in it anymore. Just don't be a dick.
