People are being childish, and I feel Riot is encouraging it.

First I'd like to give an example by telling a story which happened today.

Today I log in the game to play a couple game of League, I queue up for a normal, since I still need to check out items etc, I get top and pick Xin. Game start loading, I see I'm against a wukong, ok, decent match up.

At 4 minutes, my jungler ( Olaf ) gank my lane ( top ) with red buff active, we do not have quite enough damage to burst wukong and he flashed away, which is perfectly fine, he has to back and we now be behind. No, Olaf activate ghost and tower dive alone into the wukong, and proceed to get killed in 1-2 tower shots giving the laner Red. Still fine.

Conversation went as follow:

Me: Plz why ? Me: Explain to me how this was a smart thing to do Him: It was funny Me: Would it be funny if I went AFK screwing 3 others people game because I consider it funny ? No. Him: Would be funny

Some time pass

Viktor is doing very poorly and feeding mid, olaf also doing very poorly.

Conversation goes as follow:

Me: Why are you going performing so poorly, don't you learn from your mistakes ? Viktor: You mad ? ( kept asking me if I was mad, in a not very polite way for the rest of the game ) Olaf: I know what my mistakes are Me: Most likely not, because you keep doing them again and again, at least listen to my advices... Both of them: It's normal I don't care Both of them: Why are you mad ? So toxic /all report xin plz

And they proceed to try and annoy me for the rest of the game duration.

I feel Riot is encouraging these childish behaviors by not allowing people to say anything rude or negative to others, and not punishing hard enough the people who are actually detrimental to the team, only punishing those who are saying ''bad'' things to others ( which is perfectly fine ... if they'd put as much effort in finding and punishing detrimental behavior ).

Everyone is jumping on the '' Oh you're toxic'' train to justify whatever they're doing and using this ''excuse'' as a shield, which isn't how it should be. People who act like that are the one Riot should abuse, they keep typing in chat about ''toxic'' behavior whenever something isn't going their way but are the first to use passive-aggressive tactics to make others mad.

To clarify, I was never banned before, nor am I currently banned, but I'm getting annoyed by all these people acting like that recently, this wasn't an issue 1-2 years ago.

Its because you are just jumping on people's mistakes. You are tilting people.

Obviously that tower dive with olaf didn't go as planned. The plan was obviously to kill wukong and maybe he dies in the process in which case your team gets kill+assist and he only gets a kill. Personally I agree that he should be left to back, but it seems obvious what olaf was intending to happen. So with that in mind, you asking him is either just a jab at him or an accusation that hes trolling and that his goal was to die. So you put him in a corner where he is going to feel the need to defend himself.

Your whole team sees this happen so that's just think how they are. Every single thing you say the rest of the game is going to be colored by the impression you left with that question.

Riot disallowing you to be rude to people is not encouraging their behavior. That is absurd. Being an ass to a stranger online is not going to change their behavior and in many cases is exactly what people want, a reaction.

My advice, pay more attention what what people are trying to do and less on how it worked out.

Not only has this always been an issue, but you are in the wrong for retaliating to their attempts to troll you. By making this thread you are letting them win. Good job.

You saying 'Plz why?' was childish.

I stopped reading there.

Why are you asking why? You set yourself up for failure by acting like you're somebody that other player would answer to. Who are you, the stinking rito gameplay police chief? Throwing out suggestions is fine, but you're playing with fire by condescending to teammates. Gnar

Mute, report, move on.

Intentional feeding is punishable.

"Trying to annoy you" may be punishable... But if you mute them, it's probably harder for them to do.

That question is inflammatory and the next response is downright toxic. I wouldn't report you for this, but it's a mark against you.

The Phrase "don't you learn from your mistakes?" has a really, really, really, high chance of being taken in a negative light and then your next response is very "Holier than Thou", which is never taken well. I would report all of you at this point and here is why:

  1. You began by antagonizing a teammate for a mistake.
  2. They responded to your statements with toxicity.
  3. You antagonized a teammate for a second time.
  4. They called for a report on you.

You and them were acting childish in this situation and should be reported.
