Add "/vote kick" option to Ranked Solo/Duo

I was brainstorming of ideas on how to reduce in-game toxicity, and finally my mind came to the conclusion that we need a vote kicked option in ranked. I know this isn't an original idea, but it is by far the best solution I've been able to find to prevent in-game toxicity.

Here are the guidelines:

  • The first vote can only be started at 15 minutes in.
  • You, as an individual, can only vote to kick once per game.
  • Only 1 person may be kicked per game.
  • "/vote kick" can only be used every 5 minutes.
  • Needs a unanimous 4/0 ratio of people.
  • People who are vote kicked do not suffer a leaver penalty, but instead get a 10 minute ban from ranked (after game ends).
  • If you are vote kicked repeatedly over time you become "high priority" and Riot will (hopefully) check the game/chat logs of games you've been kicked in.
  • If Riot checks your logs and deems you're worthy of a ban then you're banned.

Scenarios where it can possibly be abused:

  1. 4 people want to surrender and 1 guy doesn't so they kick him to get the surrender vote to go through.
  2. 1 Guy is doing bad and 4 people decide to kick him because he is bad.
  3. Duos could possibly inflate the chances of how likely a "/vote kick" will go through (need stats to back up though).
  4. Your team decides to vote kick somebody as a joke, they didn't think everybody would vote yes.

Why the scenarios will rarely ever happen:

  1. This is seriously easily preventable, just don't say you voted no on a surrender vote. Let's say in this scenario you do though. Your team will most likely not want to vote kick you anyways because it is at most saving them 2 minutes for the next surrender, and at that point I'm pretty sure most people would rather open up the game, or just try to play it out and see who is winning at the 20 minute mark than kick somebody so they can surrender 2 minutes earlier.

  2. This might be the biggest problem I would see people facing if this system is put in place. Hence, the reason I purposely made this system give you borderline 0 punishment. If 4 people decide you're doing so bad that their chances of winning are higher by having you off the team you probably do deserved to be 10 minute banned from ranked. You won't get banned for being kicked, your team decided to remove you from the team so you won't get leaver-busted. The worst punishment you'll ever receive is the 10 minute ranked ban.

  3. Duos inflate the system. I'm not actually sure if the rate of people being banned would go up depending on whether you had a duo or not. However, I think the rate would go up, but I don't believe duos would inflate the numbers enough for "/vote kick" to be irrelevant.

  4. You got unlucky. Every single individual voted yes to kick you even though it decreased your teams chances of winning. If they win you still get the same amount of LP, if they lose you still lose the LP. Most people aren't masochists so I can't imagine this happening very often. Maybe .1% of cases at most.

To end, I'm open to changes/ideas. I think Riot should beta test this or a system like this. Toxicity is only becoming more rampant and spreads from person to person the more they're exposed to toxic attitudes. My plan with this system is giving a team the option to decide that they'd rather play a 4v5 than play a 5v5 with an asshole who rather sit in base and use the chat feature, or a 4v6 because Disco Nunu decided he's not in the mood to win. The other problem this solves is it will hopefully give Riot a "high priority" list of players that they can sift through to see who is worthy of being banned instead of letting that Disco Nunu player continue to play for 45 games. Whether they're banned is up to Riot though.

If you got this far thanks for reading, and I implore you all to at least read the whole thing before bashing the whole idea.

I can bring this up one level higher. You can't give players any control over these types of game mechanics, because they get abused. Some threads that are common -

  • Why can people ban my hover?
  • Let us vote to kick people from champ select.
  • Don't match me with people on my block list.

You cannot allow players to make choices like this (and the one you're proposing) because they directly affect the experience of other players and can be abused, and you know this because you put the possible abuse scenarios in your post. That's exactly why something like this would not be implemented.

And before you go "But the Inters 'N' Feeders 'N' Trolls™ affect the game for me," oh well. They're a problem, but punishing them needs to be up to Riot, not other players. Riot is running a business, and if they were to make any choices to allow the inmates to run the asylum, they lose money, bottom line.

No one is going to agree to willingly put themselves into a 4 vs 5, in normals maybe, ranked, hell no

How do you feel like this system will affect people who attempt to play off-meta and happen to do poorly in those first 15min?

Horrible idea. So many flaws. Forget about 40mins queues, it's either meta or you're out. So easily abused.

You didnt even explain how it would help lower toxicity. How would it help? And how is it better than muting/reporting a toxic player?
