So, tonight I put on my best smile and brightest positive attitude and jumped right into ranked on Summoner's Rift. Lo-and behold! My first game, despite my attempts at pepping the team up, top and mid fed and jungle left the game! The mute button, I thought, would work wonders. We lost. The next game, I had another AFK. My pep talks can't work for an absent person! Still playing extremely well, at the peak of my performance and positive attitude, I jump into another game after a 15 minute break. Wow! A win! YES. Let's take a break then keep playing again. Oh, what's this? 1/15 Darius? He flames, too? Say it ain't so. Let me try and pep talk the team, let's all focus and play we- oh, nope. Didn't work. Still got fucking wrecked. Next game, bot lane with 14 deaths at 20 minutes? Holy moly, I ganked for them as mid a thousand times to get them ahead. What is going on? There goes all of our towers, objectives and our base. Next game, a win! There's hope! Oh, nope. Nope there isn't. We have another AFK. Let's, uh....let's focus, guys!

What's going to be done about the ranking system? I know there is possibly going to be a buddy system where you can get all of your friends, but most of my friends are not at my level of play. I don't like going into games and having the team flame each other, quit, AFK, or just feed/intentionally feed and ruin my LP. I play consistently well. I have my ups and downs, but for the most part, I play very well and try to keep the chat clear for calls. What I don't like is playing a game to rank up, without having the rank depend really on my own play. What changes are going to be made on LP and ranking? I get tired of going into ranked with a positive mindset and coming out thinking I want to smash my face into a table of broken glass. I know I don't stand alone in this. It isn't fair with THIS many AFKs in ranked and THIS many trolls. Twisted Fate jungle? Really? And he quits the game? Okay. Thank you for the negative 20 LP.

I think this game would be a lot less toxic if LP was calculated differently and rankings weren't solely based on W/L, but other factors, too. I am just sick of being at the mercy of some twelve year-old, up past his bed time, ruining the game for people. Or some kid staying up late to play ranked and getting the internet turned off by their parents. It's not fun to lose a game and be in the mercy of a bunch of toxic/AFK players. "Oh, just report him after game. Then wait 3 months for a possible punishment which more than likely will never come."

What I don't like is playing a game to rank up, without having the rank depend really on my own play.

It's a team game. Riot is trying to emphasize that even further, not make it less relevant. If LP loss bothers you, just play with your friends in normals.

Well LP isn't calculated solely on Win/Loss so I think you don't quite understand the system.

Looks like you are 7-8 in your last 15 matches which is pretty much par for the course, and your MMR is significantly lower than your current league so it's not too surprising that you are running into some trouble atm.

Toxic players suck, and having afk's is frustrating but in the long run these things work themselves out. Just focus on your own play and try not to let these things bother you.

The way you view your ranked experience depends on solely your attitude.

Remember that league is just a game and if it stresses you out that much maybe you should find a new hobby.

I just got out of a game today where a Blitz trolled the entire team. Tried to take our jungler's buffs by pulling them when they were low, sat AFK in the middle of my lane multiple times, would pull the enemies to me and not knock them up - solely so they could kill me - and would flash out instantly to just watch me die. He did this to the whole team, all while spamming Blitz's dialogues. I got the entire thing on video, too. But it's against the rules to shame another summoner, so I can't post it. This is a very, VERY common occurrence. I went from being in promos to platinum last season, to mid-gold this season. I always try to keep a positive attitude and pep the team up - my outlook is fine. If I make a mistake, I learn from it. I record my play to learn from it and to see what went wrong. But with AFKs and people like Blitz in every single game I play, why play ranked? You see professional players and high-elo players doing "unranked to diamond", yet they're duoing with another player who knows the game really well and can carry if they slack off. The whole game is just sideways. I have my bad games, but my good games outweigh the bad. Yet I have absolutely nothing to show for it.
