[SOLVED?] Moderation lied to us about the ability to edit threads?

There was earlier today a very big thread about Eve's splash in the frontpage. It talked bout sexualisation complaints. Its title contained the word "feminazi". After a few hours from its creation (so when the creator wasn't enabled to change the title anymore, since the title locks in after a couple minutes), it got changed to "<complaints>".

This means a moderator changed it.

But we've been told over and over again that moderators are unable to edit boards posts and instead have to go for deletion everytime. So something's wrong.

And now, the thread has been deleted. After a full day of being in the front page, and after having been edited.
