It's time to grow up guys

EDIT: Still some grammer and spelling errors ( Auto correct is a bitch sometimes XD) but nonetheless it's much better then my previous one

Ok so quick disclaimer I made a post about this like 4 or 5 hours ago but it was sloppy poorly worded and too long so I am redoing it much shorter and better.

The league of legends community needs to grow up and stop having the mentality of 12 year olds and riot needs to grow up and stop treating these people like they are little kids getting bullied.

First the community. I am a bronze top/jpg main and I love league of legends I play it almost everyday and have a lot of fun with my friends playing it but ever since I have started playing back in season 5 I have noticed a HUGE issue...TOXICITY. In about 80% of the games I play I encounter at least 1-2 players on both teams being incredibly toxic and negative as well as raging.

I have noticed a pattern with these people though. They all act like 12 year olds that thing they are the king of the world. If anyone makes one little mistake they lose their shit and start saying that they are going to feed or they start spewing hate at the person that messed up by saying things like " Go drink bleach you piece of shit" or " I hope your mom gets cancer you little fuck". They are acting like they are mistake proof and they have never done anything wrong. TBH they act like my 9 year old brother and sister.

Now this is a obviously nothing new and I know a lot of people have hear this before but I think the reason people are this toxic is actually pretty shocking. It's because riot treats them like little kids. This leads me to the second part, riot needs to grow up.

Riot has allowed these people to be so toxic all the time and here is how. So I am going to use a game I played as an example of this.

So in champ select our support was auto filled and wanted top lane which I had so instead of causing a problem I said he could have top and I would support since I can play anything but adc. So the game start and about I would say 7 minutes in our top lane mord starts telling Elise she is retarded for not tanking her lane every 10 seconds. Natuarally everyone tries to ignore because mord was winning his lane and we didn't want to cause problems. Eventually mord gets tanked because he pushed up too far and at this point he is so mad that he tells Elise to go kill herself becuse she should have never been born.

Now I want to tell guys that I am not a toxic player at all and I try to keep my cool and ignore things like this and I didn't mute mord because even though he was toxic as hell he was giving us some decent info in chat about ult cooldowns and things like that so I was just ignoring the toxicity and reading the info he gave and that was it.

Anyway at this point for the first time since like march of season 5 I snapped and yelled at this guy. I told him to shut the fuck and and stop acting like a 12 year old and just play the game so we can all have a good time. Of course he dosent listen and countinues to be toxic as hell at such point I mute him because even if he is giving info it's not worth it listening to him. I ask everyone to repair him and that's it.

The problem is when you tell a toxic player to shut the fuck up or if you ask to report him you can get banned because that is "harassment". Fortunately I didn't get banned but northern did mord. Unfortunately our twitch who is a friend of mine got and ban for saying to mord " Please just shut the fuck up no one wants to listen to your toxicity anymore".

Riot allows this toxicity to spread by treating anyone who is toxic like a little kid so if anyone tells them to be quiet or shut up that person then becomes a bully to the so called "little kid" and is then banned because in riots eyes they are now the bad guy.

Thank you all for reading and if any of you are curios my friend is still playing league but on another account so he is not salty about the ban at all.

No need for quotation marks; that is harassment.

I don't think they are. I think Riot treats everyone appropriately. Think about what you say before you do. Would you say it in real life to a stranger? That's their philosophy. Most things deemed unacceptable in a public environment, is deemed unnacceptable in a game.

Then be the grown up and mute them. I understand it's annoying, but these players exists. All Riot can do is try to limit them. I also don't experience toxics as often as you claim to do. I experience at most 1 every 3-4 games.

I have noticed a pattern with these people though. They all act like 12 year olds that thing they are the king of the world.

Of course. The have fun, but at your expense. Mute them. Then they can have fun, but not at your expense.

I really think you are HEAVILY exaggerating. I can't speak to your experiences, but this does not align at all with what my friends and I experience.

I am not saying that these kinds of players don't exist, they do, but you should be the 'grown up' and realise that their toxicity stems from their own insecurity. By flaming you they can blame all their own mistakes on you. You can, yet again, ignore them.

Now this is a obviously nothing new and I know a lot of people have hear this before but I think the reason people are this toxic is actually pretty shocking. It's because riot treats them like little kids. This leads me to the second part, riot needs to grow up.

Here is shocking news: Kids play this game. WAAAAY more than 'grown ups'. They are acting like kids, because they are kids.

The problem is when you tell a toxic player to shut the fuck up or if you ask to report him you can get banned because that is "harassment".

Because you actually have the magical ability to make people shut the fuck up. It's a simple button, and I already think you know what button it is.

You also don't need more than one report. For one, isn't it up to other people if they want to report him or not?

Second, a single report is 100% as effective as 9 reports. Meaning that calling for reports is useless.

Fortunately I didn't get banned but northern did mord. Unfortunately our twitch who is a friend of mine got and ban for saying to mord " Please just shut the fuck up no one wants to listen to your toxicity anymore".

Then Twitch should have been the 'grown up' and muted him.

Riot Doesn't care for context. The little kid will get banned if he deserves it, and so will everyone else.

Sure, I agree that it's time to grow up, but we're probably talking in a different context.

The system is working to slowly weed out unwanted people from the game, it's not perfect, but it's working.

You can't break the agreed upon code of conduct just because someone else did. If someone rages it does not give you permission to rage back.

You still managed to misspell "grammar".

Oh the toxics get punished for sure.

I've gotten a few instant feedback messages recently. Infact, one of them nearly got me to queue dodge as it popped up when I'm selecting my champ near the end of the timer, and I just barely made it to click "lock in".

Thanks for taking the time to make this more coherent. It definitely makes you more sincere when it's easier for us to read.

Toxic players suck. But a lot of people seem to think that this game is rated Mature and is played only by adults. You only have to be 13 to play this game. Which means that at least a percentage of players ARE children. And expecting 13-14 year olds to act mature is expecting too much, quite frankly. This is why there is a mute button. And why I use it frequently. Just keep in mind, when someone starts being toxic to you, before you type an angry response and press enter, think: "If I shouted this at a 13 year old in public, would I be the bad guy?" If the answer is yes, don't type it at all. Muting is ALWAYS the best option. You can't get punished if you don't let a troll bait you into fighting back.

Mute and report, riot will try to take care of the rest. If it's that terrible, send in a support ticket. That's why riot has that set up. What more do you people want?Riot employees are not gods, capable of looking into ever case and judging the accused offenders.
