A single chatlog with virtually no context doesn't really tell you how much someone is typing. It may be a rather social game where other people are also typing alot, or a very long game.

It really depends on the game. I see most people being toxic when one side is getting stomped, and in those situations where the game is essentially over anyway, people often type in all chat.

Walking, clearing waves or simply being dead gives ample of time to write novels. It's not a StarCraft game where you have to macro every single second alongside micro your units. This game is a holiday with plenty of time to socialize.
