I Keep Being Abandoned By Supports

So, I'm not the worlds greatest ADC. I'm accepting of my current Bronze rating, but I try my best and I work hard to try and improve and climb however slowly it takes.

But in two of my games today, my Support got upset with me for one thing or another, and decided to abandon me bot lane to go duo top. My Leona, I'm not entirely sure of (we ended up giving a double kill to the enemy Jinx and she got away with a smidgen of health, so I assume that had something to do with it), and My Soraka got upset with me for going to lane with sub-full health after helping leash Blue for our XIn despite having Doran's Blade for Lifesteal, a Health Pot, Heal, and... you know... a Soraka.

Obviously, this makes it extremely hard to farm, as a smart opposing duo will punish me any time I come out from under tower to get last hits, and they'll freeze the lane to where just letting them push for days makes isn't an option (not to mention if they do get under tower, I tend to get dived or they get free tower plates cause a solo underfarmed ADC is not especially terrifying).

Has this been happening to other people lately? I imagine it's a lower elo problem, but it just blows my mind that they think it's a good idea to essentially give bot lane to the opposing team for free just because they think the ADC is sub-par.

EDIT: Since a lot of replies seem to be confused, let me explain more fully - this is not a problem with Supports roaming. I get that it's a major part of their role, and I am totally okay with them leaving me every so often to help secure a kill Mid, or help Jungle take dragon, or what have you.

The problem I'm having is that the Support, about 3-5 minutes in to the game, decides that I'm just not worth getting their presence in lane, and leaves me and goes Top for the rest of the game. I then spend a large portion of the laning phase under tower trying to farm and being unable to as the Enemy ADC, Enemy Support, and often times the Enemy Jungle as well just keep going after me whenever I try to get a single CS because they know I can't respond in any meaningful way. Tower shots aren't enough of a threat 3v1 against an underfarmed ADC for me to be able to farm safely even when the wave is crashing.

Support main here too, fwiw a good support should leave their adc alone at strategic points during the game. This allows them to spread their influence to other lanes and hopefully secure more things. I'd recommend altering your playstyle when your support roams to be a bit safer and cautious of engages or risky cs. GLHF!

No mater how much you tryhard, unless you are smurfing, you can have at best about 60% win rate. All those other 40% are games like that - someone trols or leaves. You must not tilt after a game like that. Also there was a video on youtube about C9 Sneaky being on a 16 game lose streak, so it happens.

I find it a little disappointing that this is the one recent Riot post in any thread outside of Story, Art, & Sound, and it misunderstands a problem and basically gives an official stamp of approval for players to give up and call it "roaming."

Wait, why'd you take damage to blue buff during leashing? As a jungle main, I wouldn't ask or expect that out of my team mates.

Okay, so please take this with a grain of salt, because this may come off aggressive/belittling. That is not my intended purpose.

You should not be tanking a jungle camp for your jg. Even with a Raka, they may not have started W. Some may be imitating higher elo too and not getting W until 4,5, or 7. If they did start W, then they can heal the jg while they tank their own camp.

Consider starting Doran's shield instead of blade.

Now, the support should only be roaming when it will help the team. Whioe I don't support what they are doing, I do understand the reasoning. They think providing support for a different player will be more beneficial for the team.

As an ADC main I get what you mean. It's not just a roam, it's straight up abandoning the lane and you. On my prior account (Plat 2 peak) I had quite a few Morgana leave lane because I asked them to stop Wing the minions. Other Supports would ragequit the lane too. It's an ego thing IMO, they think they're too good or they get mad, or both. You could always try looking for a duo.

I had this happen to me a couple of days ago in a Normal Draft.

Lane matchup was Vayne (Me) with a Thresh vs Ezreal Karma

First 5 minutes of the game went well, we invaded and I walked away with First Blood.

Laning begins, I keep up with CS and avoid as much poke from Karma as I could.

I base to buy items, Thresh bases as well.

Thresh proceeds to go top lane and NEVER moved from top lane.

I spent the next 15 - 20 minutes being zoned from farm and poked/ dived under my turret.

Idk why still nobody explained the behaviour This is ok to roam. As long as their actions result in better outcome, it is fine to do so as support. You should be sticking to your tower and not tilt, as you are carrrying out an important role of holding enemy power and allowing your team to have advantage of 1 more player. As adc it is an important skill to know how to 1x2 , as support is not obligated to stay in your lane. Especially if it comes to supports like Bard Thresh Alistar Leona Pyke and basically any other champ that applies map pressure.

Also if 5 waves have come and gone and my adc has sub 20 cs.... well I may not leave immediately but let's just say I'm gonna be ganking/not in bot lane/shielding the midlaner or myself 100% of the time. If you do something to make your team lose faith in you they are absolutely going to commit their resources elsewhere where it might make a difference

As a former support main for a time I Usually give up when adcs do nothing by farm and dont captialize on poke or cc skills or enemies low hp. As an adc your job is more than just farming just as a support job is protecting the adc helping push/ manage lane and suplimenting the damage if they arent leading the damage also fishing for cc in lane to put yourselves ahead and more importantly the enemy behind. just to say why a support may get mad and leave you. i go to other people playing pro actively and help them

As someone who is low-key petty and plays support, I abandon my ADC if:

  1. ADC flames me for something I can't control/isn't my fault ("WHY DIDN'T BODYBLOCK THE SKILLSHOT" after they run in a straight line or "WTF NOOB CAN YOU HEAL ME" when heal on CD) and then a kind laner offers to take me in
  2. If entire team starts flaming me and the ADC is pure garbage/inting. Might as well snowball other lanes if ADC is running it down bot.
  3. ADC doesn't give a shit about vision+pings. I don't want to follow you into respawn if you keep hitting turret despite me pinging that four people are coming down to gangbang our lane.
