why not a permaban for mmr boosting?

this is something i dont quite understand. if you let other people play on your account, i feel like that should be a permaban and not a 14day ban. lets say you are the perfect nice player. you get a 14day ban for boosting. then what? since you are super nice, you dont flame and wont get a permaban. keep boosting away...

Everyone deserves a second chance.

It's a valid question, however Riot believes in reform and it probably works like other severe behaviours in that way. People can't learn from their errors if they never get the chance to do so. The second offense would be a perma if that's the case, but I am unsure if it is.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

They're cracking down on all sorts of account sharing with this wave, it seems. Might be bad PR to issue a perma out of nowhere to a guy that let his brother play two games in April, ya know?

Almost every offense gets a second chance in League of Legends - the only one that would not is if someone had a blatant and extreme violation of ToU (such as selling an account for money, extreme threats, etc). Even boosters are given a second chance - albeit without their previous rewards (all are removed) as well as with a 2 week warning to not do it again.

Accounts flagged a second time to my understanding are permanently banned.
