punishment system rework

i feel like one of the problems with the current 4 strike system is there is nothing in between a slap on the wrist and a permaban. just 3 progressively larger slaps on the wrist.and then a permaban. and the "shock value" rarely sets in until the later steps. an idea i had to fix this, is keep the current 4 strike system. but change the punishments

current system 10 game chat restriction 25 game chat restriction 14 day ban permaban

proposed new system: 25 game chat restriction 14 day ban indefinite chat restriction and loss of rewards for an entire season, permaban

the idea is to make the later steps actually feel like a bigger punishment

A 14-day ban is a "slap on the wrist" to you?

I figure it would be a pretty big wakeup call to be banned from the game for two weeks.

Most people learn from the first punishment.

also. if someone earns a chat restriction or ban. they should have a checkbox saying "keep me chat restricted after my punishment is over" and they would have the option to uncheck it after every 10 games

No thanks. I am not interested in playing with people who cannot even be trusted to talk to people.

I could get behind a more hefty ban between 14 day and permanent. Like a 6 month or 1 year ban, though. Especially if they removed one of the chat restrictions.

Personally, I don't understand what's wrong with a prisoner's island.

Or people can actually learn from the punishment and actually change. Its not that difficult (or in my opinion it shouldnt be) But people feel the need to vent in the chat. If you cannot follow the rules leave! Why should Riot cater towards people who break the rules. One would assume people would have even a little self control!
