If the majority of the player base votes against Hate Speeches, Racism and Homophobia

Why don't we have IMMEDIATE harsher punishments for these offences? I don't see why someone can get away with a massive hate speech on something and simply get a warning. It should be escalated IMMEDIATELY to show the community there is actually ZERO tolerance to that behavior.

This kind of behavior is already treated very similarly to how you're outlining. When the systems in place see hate speech in a chat log, it gets escalated to either a 14-day or permanent suspension extremely quickly. The reason you may not be seeing it quite as fast as you'd like is that those systems are designed to have a tiny amount of leniency/time to validate before dropping a punishment that harsh on people.

Riot does everything they can to avoid false positives while still ensuring effective systems, so it's kind of a balancing act to hit the sweet spot where those two aspects meet. I just wanted to let you know that this is a serious offense and generally addressed really fast.

Reporting someone for their words is the stupidest thing IMO. Just mute them and block them after game and problem is solved forever. Everyone is too easily offended and worried about being politically correct. If you don't want to hear it you don't have to. People apparently don't know how to use the mute/block feature.

When reviews find hate speech they get escalated to 14 day bans and permanent bans. It generally takes more than 1 report to trigger a review though, that is why it isn't immediate.

I've seen everything from ISIS threats to IRL murder threats, cancer wishes go unpunished. Most likely gave them a warning or a slight chat restriction but it should be harsher.

It often does, though I don't know how consistently escalated punishments for it happen. The system doesn't escalate punishments on its own as far as I know, so requires a manual review. It's possible that when we get Tribunal voting back that will provide enough manpower to handle these.

I definitely agree, but... was there an actual vote that I missed? Or like a survey or something? Or are they just talking out of their asses with that statistic? While I'm all for punishing hate speech, I don't like rito speaking for me without ever having asked.

I agree. I think giving a permanent ban on using the chat is the BEST punishment for these kinds of behavior.

In addition I think it worth noting that some of the hate speeches online have a genuine impact on people in real life. I've seen many stories on the forums here about it. So that is only furthering my push to make it harsher.

There should be no tolerance at all for this kind of thing in league.
