A sort of defense for scripts.... riot allow them?

Before you downvote, I dont mean riot should allow bots in god mode, that can dodge everything and do immense damage and never get hit by abilities etc.

What I want to know, is I read up about the types of scripts ever since I started the duo q with scripter thread.

I was intrigued when I found out that some scripts offer "dodge assists" and "combo assists at the press of a button"

Now what Im proposing is why does riot invest in, and allow certain things like preset combos that you can keybind to a certain button?

IE

"sona main likes a combo of W>Q>E>Flash>R >sona can keybind that combo to a button and when that button is pressed those abilities go off in order, with a short cooldown in between of 1/2 a second"

You know like how in some games you can Que abilties to be triggered in a certain order why doesnt riot add that to their game? you can offer a more streamlines automatic approach to the game or allow full manual control, or a mix of both?

It wouldnt be game breaking, to allow a preset combo that could Q abilities to be used in order and at the same time could make some existing scripts useless.

Im not saying add ones that are clearly cheating (IE dodge assist)

Im merely suggest why not add new features to the game that scripts are often using that arent necessarily game breaking?

Pros: new features and new ways to play the game rather than the standar controls.

  • can make certain scripters useless -can bring more players to the game for the diversity of controls -can make games more interesting

Cons: -manual player plays against auto player and one is more powerful than the other -can be tricky to code and make work -a bunch of former scripters or players banned for ones that riot adds as part of the game would be pissed and bitch on the forums

Macros are not allowed.

I don't really see any of the pros as actual pros. Riot is better off just banning scripts than implementing what they do into the game to make them redundant. I don't see how allowing macros will bring in more players and "more interesting" is purely subjective.

Your very first con is a big red flag, and is a good reason for not allowing macros. You'd be put at a disadvantage for not setting up macros, and some champions that require a lot of mechanical skill to be good with them (riven, lee sin, katarina, etc) would be broken.

That riven that just E>R>F>1>W>Q>R>Q>AA>Q>AA'd you would have no counterplay, and it would just require the push of a button.

Let's remove all skill from the game

MMORPGs generally allow macros to some extent because many of them have pages after pages of abilities. Not to mention MMORPGs are either social games or a grind games at their core, and so they have no problem encouraging macros because they don't go against the central narrative of the game.

But in ARTS/MOBA it is different, managing your abilities IS the core of the game. And macros go against that. Hence why macros are not allowed here and I highly doubt they ever will be. The furthest we get is hotkeys to allow accessing whatever skills and or items a tad bit easier and less time consuming than say clicking icons with cursor, and that's really it.

Some games, such as RTS games, may allow macro for casual play, but they are never allowed in tournaments as far as I'm aware for the same reason. And they only allow that because the barrier to entry is probably too daunting for new players with all the micro-management and all that. However in LoL, each champ only has a handful of abilities save from a few, so macros simply aren't allowed because there really is no need to.

If you can bind multiple actions to one button to be used one after the other you ruin the purpose of competitive play and you get an unfair advantage. Certain champions would benefit from it better than other; especially champions who require multiple actions in a short period of time.
