Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I would like to change my summoner name to another summoner name who is currently occupied by an inactive player. The player has not played season 8 at all. Season 7 they have a total of 39 games, season 6 they have 3 games total, season 5 they were very active 200+ games.

Riot posted this: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201751914-Summoner-Name-Clean-Up-

is there a way to tell how long the protection a player has? Riot stated they wont give that out for privacy

Riot states this > MATHS IS NOT MY STRONG POINT. COULD YOU MAKE AN EXAMPLE OF HOW INACTIVITY PROTECTION IS CALCULATED? Levels 1-6: 6 months of inactivity immunity Level 12: 1 year of immunity Level 20: 1 year, 8 months of immunity > Level 30: 2 years, 6 months of immunity

I have to wait 2 years and 6 months of inactivity for the name to become available? The summoner name was created in season 3. Thanks for your help in advance

Season 7 they have a total of 39 games ... Level 30: 2 years, 6 months of immunity

So you'll be able to try and get their name in Season 9 or Season 10.

There is a site that can be used to check: http://lolinactive.com

This is not a guaranteed accuracy as it is not made or endorsed by riot. However, it is pretty damn close still as names become available after a set time on inactivity that can be accessed pretty easily:

  • Levels 1-6: 6 months of inactivity immunity
  • Level 12: 1 year of immunity
  • Level 20: 1 year, 8 months of immunity
  • Level 30: 2 years, 6 months of immunity

The inactivity clock starts at the last active time. The clock resets with each activity (guessing that this is tracked by logging in or playing a game).
