Advise to prevent yourself from full-on tilting and flaming?

When I was a child, my psychologist told me that whatever makes you angry will make you less angry when you share it with someone. Since I just had one of the tilties, saltiest and most horrible games of my life and I don't know anyone who'd give a damn about it, I just thought that I'd write about it in the Boards.

So I just had a game of Urgot Toplane, which is one of the champions I enjoy the most. As soon as the enemy saw that, they were most likely Pre, they decided to camp me, kill me whenever I came to lane ( they didn't really give a damn about turrets either ) and Spam Emotes to disrespect me, saying things like "Urgot OP" etc. to piss me off. They did not really break the Summoner's Code, stomping and taunting is not forbidden as long as it's not directly insulting but I just cracked. I was really bored and frustated to begin with when I went into the game, and these sadistic pieces of shit just took advantage of that and amused themselves over me failing hard and being frustrated. I started to flame them and call them all kinds of things. I know, this is really wrong and I should have just let it happen and stayed civilized but I couldn't control myself as much as I wanted to.

My question is, how do you prevent that? I keep trying to calm myself down in such situations yet I have not found a way to totally prevent me from tiliting and becoming a lowly, whiny keyboard warrior.

/mute all

If you get frustrated even with everyone muted, tab out of League for a minute and throw on a podcast or youtube video. I say that instead of music because music is easy to ignore. You want to listen to something that will distract/distance you emotionally from the game, something else to concentrate on. If you have a tv, you could watch that too.

The first step is to change your announcer pack to DJ Khaled. This step is not optional

Seriously, it's really hard to be mad when you have DJ Khaled saying things like "Another One", "You the best", and "You could put the hinges in the hands, too"

The second step is to just remember it's a game and if you need to, turn off /All Chat to prevent their input and toxic replies.

Everything else is up to speculation. If you're still getting frustrated, try playing ARAM or Poro King and just have fun. Play AD Lux in poro king. Play Tankfiddle sticks wherever! AP Rammus? Ok.Rammus You need to take breaks from serious games sometimes and just have fun with it.

By the way, is there an option to deactivate enemy taunts and emotes?

I recently got permabanned for flaming and raging to much... so i know how you feel.

Something interesting I started doing was turning up my voice volume, maybe putting on a video about my champs lore in the background (there are alot of good ones) and thinking about the lore and playing as my character.

Its kinda weird but it takes away from the competative frustration when your playing badly.

if you are doing bad, admit it to yourself and then ignore chat if anythign negative is being said.

listen to the team calls or discussions on how to team play better in that game, but just mentally ignore anything that is negative.

What Jinx said. Props to you for recognizing your issue and looking for advice on how to fix it, though.

I have music going all the effing time. Find something that you can listen to endlessly, something that just keeps you chill. I use Japanese pop; it's 119% bubblegum and rainbows, so I rarely have a problem. And if something awful happens, I take a break. Eat food and shit. Do some stretches.

my advice is, if it's normal games, remember that it literally doesn't matter at all, to anyone, and has no effect on your life whatsoever. normals are pointless. i love them.

Yeah... just think about your next game. That's what I usually do. I reflect on my choices that game, and just think ahead. Sometimes I think about stuff out of game, like what I'm having for dinner. Doesn't really matter as long as it isn't thinking about them.
