Higher ranked players show disdain/contempt toward lower ranked players

Because if you are a low rank, higher ranked players just tell you to shut up even when you make good points. If you piss somebody off, they just look at your profile or op.gg to find your rank and then have an arrogant attitude and treat you as an inferior. Some people get ranked anxiety like me. Others don't have the time to play League often. Some are stuck in elo hell. Maybe their mechanics are bad but game knowledge is decent. I hate being looked down upon just because where I ended up from my placement matches. You don't have to be plat+ to see if a build is sub-optimal or somebody/team is focusing the wrong target in a teamfight or how to play a specific champion matchup.

People who tend to do this don't really get "recognition" in other things in life, so they look into their games to get "recognition" through elo/rank.

It's human nature for people to seek some form of recognition or approval of others, and if they can't do so academically, socially, perhaps in other skills etc and that includes gaming, but gaming is pretty low down the scale in terms of "things worthy of being approved for". Ultimately there's still a reason why even esports players are looked down upon by the general society.

That's also why if you say it in the right way, you can shut down anyone who uses their rank/elo as authority by saying how they need to use their elo as autority rather than whatever else.

That's why someone like me can stay rational and still debate about anything in LoL despite being B5 for like, I dunno maybe 2 years (but then again I haven't touched ranked for that long too)

Here's the thing... Someone who is high ranking knows more and is better at the game then someone who is low ranking. Yes, some people are jerks about it. But it doesn't change the fact that if someone is a higher rank they most likely know more than you. I have this one friend who will brag about getting X amount of kills in a normal (yet he is Silver) and I tell him to play ranked. He doesn't play ranked because he knows he's against lower people in normals which is why he is getting so many kills. Someone in Bronze obviously is missing many key points about League and people who play a lot of ranked and are high ranking are usually very competitive and understand most if not all of League. If you don't play ranked you can't say you know more than someone who does and is high ranking. That's like saying you personally studied the human body and know just as much as if not more than a doctor and you just haven't gotten certified or recognition.

I'm fine with lower elos telling me i'm doing something wrong it's just the way they say it like ''I know more than you and your in gold idk why'' i get that vibe from them.

Youre basicly saying that qtpie has same level of game understanding than any b5? Regarding basics like champion skills sure but regarding making calls qtpie has way more experience therefore his calls are more succsesful than b5 ones.

Word rank by my understanding means level of knowledge (in context of League). So higher you are, more knowledge of the game you have...

Its one thing to be high rank and share your wisdom and another to be high rank and brag about it and treat everyone like an idiot. I believe youre addressing the 2nd ones

It's fine when Higher ranked players are constructive and giving friendly advice, but downright annoying when when they talk about bronze players like they are subhumans who are unworthy of theorizing and coming up with their own ideas about how to better play the game.

Also if the rank difference between the two is something like Bronze 1 and Silver 5, or Silver 1 and Gold 5 etc... yeah just shut up you are all basically the same rank.
