Hey everyone,

Earlier today we shipped some code for ping muting to PBE. We'll be turning it on for testing on PBE in the next few days, and hope to have it live around the world within just a couple patches. This is a new button we're adding to the tab menu. It'll axe standard, smart, and HUD pings from the player you ping mute.

The mute button that's already in the game is not moving or changing at all. It mutes chat, and extracurricular animations and emotes. The idea is to give everyone granular mute controls.

when doing this i believe you should have it alert you that the person on your team has muted your pings so that if you were actually trying to be helpful but they're tilted you won't be wasting your time on pinging information to that person.

OMG Riot i fucking love you for this you lovely sexy bastards <3.

Now I can actually do team work things like pushing an ally's lane and get the enemy tower 10 minutes into the game without getting bombarded with pings then get comments like "Ziggs WTF".

Yes people apparently dont like allies that can one shot towers to. Its like they don't like winning the game or something. strange isn't it?

Will automatic 'On the way' pings for things like Pantheon ult still be visible for ping muted players?

If I ping mute someone, will they be able to see my pings? Or does it work like chat mute, where they can't see my chat, and I can't see their?

Out of curiosity -- is it a FULL mute, or does it simply put a timer on a player's pings? I can see a good argument for allowing the occasional ping every minute or two, even from someone who uses them to harass...since it's always possible they'll have at least one ping that means something.

Either way, thanks for putting the time into developing this feature!

Just making sure, this will allow you to mute regular pings, smart pings and chat pings?
