Does Riot ever actually do anything about trolling?

This was probably at least my 7th game this week with someone intentionally griefing a game by trolling.

2 times were people stealing my support role from me since they didn't like my pick (Gragas and Jax, both going tanky as they have good engage and decent base stats so aren't super gold reliant, I've played both multiple times and it works at my very low elo) and both times the other player flamed me for it because I didn't swap lanes with them despite the fact they never mentioned/asked about it once.

So, I have been losing games solely because of people doing whatever they want, normally involving flaming me, and just taking whatever lanes they want with no regard to anyone else in the game.

I always explain exactly what happened in my reports, but so far I have yet to see any of them receive any form of punishment.

So does Riot actually do anything about people trolling, or do they only go after people hacking or using racial/derogatory terms?

I mean I do hover them before hand, not just insta lock at last second

If people have issues they can speak up, and have in the past, in which case I have no problem swapping champs or lanes

But to just make an assumption and flame over it, not really a great plan

Im just going to say right now, I dont trust your support picks either. Regardless of how "good" you think they would make as a support there is a reason why they are upset. They think you are trolling.

Yes they shouldnt flame you, but at the same time you shouldn't be going so far off meta that its disrupting the gameplay of other players.

I'm very confident that you have not been an angel in this case either and have done your fair share of flaming back at your team for what they have either said or their performance in game.

To simply answer your question, yes RIOT does ban these players, thousands every day are banned.

But seriously, from now on dont pick gragas or jax support, you look like a troll who is pissed he didn't get the lane he wanted so he is going his one trick regardless of viability for the team. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

So lets do a run down

  1. Don't play anything that isn't directly meta, remember back when Sion support was laughed at? Yea guess they were trolling as well. Good way to ensure the meta stays as stale as possible by never trying anything new

  2. Not like I'm doing full crit zac support, or full AP daruis jungle, you know things that are obviously nonviable, I'm playing champs who have engage/disengage/CC/good base stats and similar things that most supports have

  3. You also enjoy to make assumption like the people I've played with, you just assume I instantly start flaming anyone who questions my picks or get enraged if they say something to me.

The game has built in chat, if you have a question about someones pick or think something isn't viable, don't just do whatever you please thinking you're in the right because "This guy is clearly a troll because he is not playing the meta", since that would have meant picking champs like udyr before his buff was also trolling since he had such a bad win rate, even though you were playing him in his intended positions.
