@RIOT So when are you going to crack down on champion select trolls?

Just had a ranked game where our jungler hovered Zed. One of the players in the queue asked if he wanted mid and his response was "no, I main zed jungle." I checked him match history on op.gg and found out he had never played a ranked game on Zed, let alone a game of Zed jungle.

The enemy team picks Zed before he has a chance to so he switches his hover to Teemo jungle. 2 seconds before he needs to lock in switches to Urgot and locks in Urgot jungle. I checked his account and he's never played Teemo or Urgot jungle before. Keep in mind this is in a ranked game.

The rest of us talk about who is going to dodge and ultimately I take the bullet and dodge. Now I'm stuck with the 5 minute wait time and -3 LP and this troll is allowed to go on an troll another game. I submitted a support ticket but I doubt anything will come of it except an automated response from Riot telling me to use the in-client reporting system when possible.

Honestly, when is Riot going to address the issue of trolling in champion select in ranked? This includes but is not limited to:

  1. Playing a very off-meta champion that you've never played before in ranked in a role they normally don't play (i.e. Zed or Urgot jungle.)
  2. Banning away the champion someone hovers (especially if that person is first pick so there's no chance of counter pick.)
  3. Queuing up for a less desired role (like support) and then telling people that you are going a different role (like mid) "no matter what."

Feel free to add any more ways you've seen people troll in champ select.

Riot is never going to enforce the meta. Just because you don't agree with their champ choice doesn't mean they don't get to play what they want to play. If you don't like it you can dodge or you can play the game.

You cannot report someone for picking a non-meta, non role specific champ. It's not a violation of any rules. You also cant judge someones abilities based on match history or if they have any games on that champ. You don't know if he has another account or what. People can literally play any champ in any role and so long as they try to win and don't intentionally feed there is nothing that can be done about it.

I've seen morgana jungles outplay a lee sin before so the champ they pick isnt as important as their overall map awareness and knowledge of the game.

The definition for trolling does not fit what you describe. That person is allowed to play whatever champ they want just as much as you are allowed to come whine on the forums here about it.

Those things are always based on opinions. Urgot jungle is to your opinion troll but maybe with a certain playstyle it isn't. 2 mid is your opinion to be troll but it can work if they'd deny farm or just have two counters to the enemy mid making it an enemy farm fest. Banning a champion someone hovers can have a multitude of reasons.

Also items change, meta changes, champions get used in different roles etc etc. So I don't think it'll ever happen.

Never, I get muted doesn't matter whether I actually say something toxic or whether I respond sarcastically, so I will find ways to make others suffer too.

Get triggered, SJW's.
