Why is it okay for me to queue up for a game, get the role I wanted, and then basically be told "You're going support. We're a four man and you're the random, oh btw we'll ban your champion if you don't, so you're fucked either way"

It is actually not allowed.
The best way to deal with it is not show pick intent until bans are finished, and if people instalock and do dumb shit, ignore them, pick anyway, go to your lane, and refuse to leave or speak to them. They will either int, cry, rage (and get a chat restriction), or they will fold and go to their proper lane.
Either way, any loss/feeding is entirely on their shoulders, and they know it.
I got matched up with a four man group and i was the only solo, because we lost that game they blamed me for the defeat and only me, even though my score was decent and i barely finished the 2nd tier chat restriction and wasn't typing in chat unless it was needed. In the end of the day i was report by i'm guessing mostly everyone for false reasons and tried to message riot and they simply replied with something like "We will never unban you and see you in the next adventure" or something . It really is an unfair system to skip a tier of punishment and be reported for no valid reason. But riot leaves it all to robots to do their work so they never have any confirmation or hand in any of their games bans. Such an unfair system is upholded by the game creators, i'm so tired of this game.
People are dicks, Play ranked and you will see less of the normal shenanigans so Im told
The reason my main got banned is because i got reported by a 4 man, they flamed me all game and i didnt feel like reporting so they didnt get punished.
Exactly the same as being autofilled (cept a computer does it). Funny how wrong it seems when players do it instead of an automated process.
But yeah... it's not fun to be forced into a role that you don't want to play.
Sucks. But...best thing to do is just play support. Preferably something passive and reactive. They are friends on voicechat. You will always be behind on their plays. You will always lack situational awareness. Playing support is actually better for everyone in that situation, suckily forced as it may be.
