Does Riot still care about role stealing in blind pick?

Had an Udyr last game lock in jungle after I'd called it, but because me and our Malphite managed to carry the game and win he thought he'd get out without a report.

What with new draft pick being around for so long now, does my report mean anything? Hard to prove he stole a role if he wasn't assigned one to begin with and I'm not sure if pre-game chats are accessible.

It just kinda sucks thinking that he can do this whenever he wants and get away with it.

That's why I never play blind pick it's a horrible place to learn new roles

"Had an Udyr last game lock in jungle after I'd called it"

  • He can play what he wants, period.

"but because me and our Malphite managed to carry the game and win"

  • This is relevant because?

"he thought he'd get out without a report."

  • See unless he was toxic in game, he can NOT be banned for picking something you didn't like.

"What with new draft pick being around for so long now"

  • Not relevant, you are in blind que.

"does my report mean anything?"

  • No, unless he was toxic in game.

"Hard to prove he stole a role if he wasn't assigned one to begin with"

  • Again, this is not relevant as roles are meta and riot has said the meta isn't the law.

"and I'm not sure if pre-game chats are accessible."

  • They are, all they will show is you calling a role then someone else wanting to play it, not toxic.

"It just kinda sucks thinking that he can do this whenever he wants and get away with it."

  • Yeah, because its ALLOWED, unless he locked in AFTER you it can be argued YOU were toxic as he already picked a champion and job for the team and you are getting on him simply because he beat you to the punch.

Blind pick is basically first lock, first pick. It is the same as someone getting your primary in team builder, if they get it you can ask (call) for it but if they say no (have already picked) you are out of luck.

There is no such thing as picking a lane in blind pick. Never has been. If someone steals the jungle lock in jungle double jungle and ruin the game. It's allowed might as well do it.

If you don't want to be toxic just fill

It's pick order not call order. Riot can't enforce call order.

Blind pick is anything goes, so if you can't fill or not be raged when you get your role stolen don't play it.

You can only report for this in draft mode.

I'm not sure that they ever did care about this...hard to "steal" a role that you never really owned. Calling in chat is kind of pointless because sometimes people join after you've already typed. I haven't played a blind pick normal game in a long, long time for this sole reason.

Riot never cared about "role stealing" in blind pick. They do NOT enforce the meta. There is no such thing as a role when there is no enforced meta for blind.

guy - you're more likely to be chat restricted for arguing over roles than the guy that "stole" your lane. blind does not have any rules or metas regarding lanes. you go in choose a champ you want to play and find your place on the map when the game loads. the whole lane calling thing is just a way for players to try to strategize prior to the start of the game. there's no law or rule saying player X has to go to lane Y with Z champ. if that's the format you're looking for then play draft. blind is for new players and trying out new compositions and champs against actual players. im sorry to have to be the one to clarify that for you, but it's how it is.

Play draft, everything's better on draft.

Officially, in draft it is pick order. In blind nobody cares (I believe). Maybe you can report them for not communicating, if that is still an option.... but blind pick is wild.
