Call me biased but receiving a 14 day ban for typical rage is uncalled for heres why

This game in general is notoriously known for having high amounts of toxicity perhaps more than any other popular online game out there. It is in human nature to be angry its an emotion therefore you cant exactly force yourself to be angry it rather has to occur naturally. In a typical setting a 14 day ban should indicate that i have done something VERY VERY wrong, if i put a match in jeopardy out of spite or i threatened another player life or something.. not to mention i didn't even use any homophobic slurs .. Its basically a natural occurrence when someone comments to another player:

  1. Trash
  2. Really bad
  3. Bad
  4. Uninstall noob
  5. Noob

^^ very common just about any serious ranked match will consist of any of these, its typical trash talk wither its kids or grown ass men playing. The fact remains that they are commonly used and most people already have thick enough skin to tolerate most of it so when anger fuels us you expect us to just shut up? control an emotion? i rather say something in chat then punch my labtop screen god forbid. The fire has to shoot somewhere, i even receive comments from other players ALL THE TIME when they are upset with me, do i report them? no because im a grown ass man and i have thick skin, ill say something back time to time but i wont report unless that player is actually putting the match in jeopardy for selfish/needy reasons.

My point is a player shouldn't be banned for something as stupid as that honestly. If i did tell another player to kill themselves or use homo slurs then by all means ban me ! the community would surely be a better place without me. But in this case players have a mute button no? maybe we should enlarge it or remind players more frequently as after they report they still have thick enough skin to continue playing after all you never see any teenager legit crying because enemy zed called him trash like honestly whenever i did receive just an in game chat ban, the punishment was definitely justified like i felt like i deserved the punishment to an extent, but banning keyboard warriors is just overkill riot.

[sg-lulu] So give human beings a break for the excused have feelings too. Sincerely an evil person who deserved a 14 ban (sarcasm intended)

The mute button is not there to enable you to abuse/harass others. Those actions, abuse and harassment, are not normal, not natural, and not okay. Trying to normalize it is the reason that toxicity is so high in League.

Normally it won't. But there are 4 levels of punishment:

  1. 10 game chat restriction
  2. 25 game chat restriction
  3. 14-day ban
  4. Permaban

Those things you say would normally yield a chat restriction only, but because of your history, the system has deemed you to be a repeat offender and escalated your punishment.

Your next punishment will be a permaban. Any small thing, even a small harassment like calling for reports, will get you a punishment. If you value your account, I suggest you /mute all at the begining of the game and stop typing anything.

honestly whenever i did receive just a in game chat ban, the punishment was definitely justified like i felt like i deserved the punishment to an extent

Emphasis mine.

If you received chat restrictions before this ban, it's just the way the punishment system escalates naturally. If someone is flaming or harassing their teammates consistently enough to get reported a lot, they will move up the punishment tiers, even in the absence of hate speech or other zero tolerance behaviors.

So the issue here is most likely consistency of your behavior more than extremity.

A lot of us get frustrated at this game, but it's important to remember to keep useless whining and flaming out of the chat.

if you think

This game in general is notoriously known for having high amounts of toxicity perhaps more than any other popular online game out there.

Then it feels like you've generally never played many other competitive online games. Yes people are quick to "gg ez reported" but no one, and i mean, no one, is at fault for people being emotionally unstable except those who are. Riot is actively banning people who act toxic and it is a good thing. Look at games like CSGO where you can say whatever you want, where suicide suggestions, disease and death are things you'll hear nearly any game, which is a horrible thing as games often only go on for 10 minutes.

If a person on the internet calling you a name makes you so internally angry that you HAVE to express your anger by either destroying your computer or taking the responsibility for calling them out in-game, i am sorry but then it is completely your own fault you got a ban.

Oh and, as you said, this IS a very competitive game, which is exactly why punishments are so severe against emotionally unstable "ragers", because one single person making bad decisions because of their emotional state as well as calling others name can distract a team into a loss very easily, and quite often, does.
