i had a possible solution for this

  • rework the IFS so that if 2 players validly get reported by each other,AND if 1 were to be punished either by the bot or manual review BOTH are bumped up the punishment ladder, even if it would have normally been disregarded as a bad game

This is revenge, not justice. This is basically punishing you for someone else's negative history.

You do realize what this would mean right?

Lets set up a situation:

  • Player A has had a 2 week ban 3 months ago, but hasn't been reported once since then
  • Player B has never been punished, but has been rather negative lately.
  • Player B says things certainly worthy of a chat restriction or more, and Player A says "report Player B"
  • Player B gets a 10 game chat restriction
  • Player A gets Permabanned because Player B got a chat restriction and being reported for saying "report someone" is valid.

That's infinitely worse than the current system!

Uhh... so then someone can create an account, rage, then get everyone he plays with punished cuz he reports all 9 people in his game?

See the flaw here?

looking at your replies. i agree, this is one of my stupid drunk ideas that should be buried and never seen again. a better "and more fair" idea would be to make it so if 2 players report each other validly. they negate each others reports, and both have to be reported by someone in the game who wasn't toxic. that way, your ban is at least not being decided by the troll who riled you up
