Does anyone else think that the banning system and overall other players are too soft?

I just read Episode 1 of The Verdict it's amazing that one simple "useless Caitlyn" comment gets a guy banned (What I am referring to: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/5axUFez1-the-verdict-episode-1).

Are we really at the point where we need people banned for one simple insult? I mean I get that being toxic is bad and I support toxic players being banned, but if one, not even that bad of an insult is enough to get a guy reported and then punished then I am glad I don't play anymore. Verbal toxicity that should be banned in my eyes is frequent verbal abuse and or telling someone to kill themselves, that's it, if you can't handle being called useless or bad once or twice because your team is frustrated then you should really consider /mute all or playing with friends. This is an online multiplayer game, people get upset, people want to win, it's the same in DOTA, CSGO, HotS, WoW, or any other MOBAs, FPS or team based games, and not everyone has the self control of a saint to not type something when their team mate has screwed up multiple times and has cost them a game.

People need to learn to mute players and move on, yeah being called bad is shitty, childish and not right, but if can't press a few buttons to stop seeing a guys messages because you got told that you're trash because you're 0/8 at 20 minutes, good luck to you then.

Welcome to the future. Its sad, but Tencent has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to rough behaviour - they'd rather prevent it altogether than teach people how to deal with negative behaviour.

This is the way the world is going. Safe spaces.

Great, then what exactly is your problem? You do not get banned for saying "you suck" once. You only get a chat restriction after saying stuff like that in nearly every single game. In other words, only if this happens frequently, not if it only happens occasionally.

Actually the votes are finished. And it was overwhelmingly judged to be neutral.

30 positive votes.

336 neutral votes.

And 120 negative votes.

We also got votes from all over the world!

It looks as though the consensus is that Yi wasn't really toxic until the very end and people don't believe a punishment is warranted..

They didn't get punished. The Master Yi player was one of the volunteers for "The Verdict".

It is frequency and severity. One insult wouldn't get you punished, but a constant history of it would lead to punishment.

Yi's logs are a bit aggressive, but they alone wouldn't lead to permaban.
