Makes no difference. The system that is in place is based on there being (mostly) net zero gain/loss in MMR per game. Whatever you call the starting point, it will be where the average player is.

Besides, even a different system that makes you "earn" the average rank will just punish a different spectrum with lobsided matches. At least the average rank has the highest percentage of players in it, make it the rank with the best chance at "mitigating" the damage of wrongly ranked players.

You're assuming the system's only purpose is ladder. The system's other purpose is to match players ability. With that in mind, it makes much more sense to start new players at average.

dude i have players from bronze-high plat in my games.. I don't think that's new player. that's just the entire normals playerbase

I think some of the talk about CS stems from back in the dark ages of lol where the first 20 minutes were all about freezing and farming and the better farmer won. But a lot of it is people will try to talk anything. At the end of the day there is only one stat that matters. And ANY w is better than ANY l. So if I have to look terrible stat wise for the team to get a win, I'm going to do it. If I have to look really good stat wise for the team to get a win, I'm going to do it. And to be honest with you, I've been blamed for a loss just as much with good stats as I have with terrible ones.

It was norms. She flamed everyone besides her duo buddy who was teh one feeding. Yes I did afk for like 5 min but that was because of the fact that my comp overheated out of nowhere(I forgot to turn it off overnight xd) but I tried to farm after since I wasn't like 20 cs down after afking for 5 min then she just started acting like she was a midlaner built ap, took teh cs, and said that she was doing good and I should just shut up or something
