People just either A: Buy accounts for 10 dollars on Ebay that are ranked ready with FRESH MMR, or B: Make smurfs and ruin games for new players, or get into smurf queue and continue to be toxic as high hell. I can't even make a fucking smurf without getting told to kill myself, and have 8 afk's in 20 games. That's fucking atrocious.

Yet, here I am still playing the game because of how easy it is to just access another account. It doesn't do shit, I can assure you. 95% of them are due to toxicity, which can be solved by perma muting a fucking player instead.

That isn't fixing anything, now you just have people pissed that someone going out of their way to ruin the game gets away scot free while they are punished. Also, how is the system supposed to know about the last three directly?
There is a reason why the latter 3 take longer to get punished, because it isn't as simple as catching someone clearly trying to sabotage with their words, afkers do eventually get punished, as do int feeders, but sabotaging is rather difficult thing to define. Do you consider someone who goes 0/5/0 sabotaging? If so, what are the circumstances because EVERYONE has games like that, I don't care who you are, there have been games where YOU are the one feeding but it isn't intentional, maybe you are getting camped, maybe your brain refuses to operate, or something just happens and you end up as the dead weight, should you be banned for a bad game?
People just naturally do have bad games, and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you will stop flaming, hell, what even is the point of flaming, what does flaming actually get you? Does it make your allies play better, no. Does it make you win, no. Then why not simply not say anything and just play?

Jamaree4 votesThey have tried a plethora of other things, reform program (95% fail rate.), perma chat bans, slower build up of punishments, every system, the people deadset on being just toxic beyond belief continued to be. The point of a permaban is to hopefully dissuade them from coming back, not much can really be done to stop them without also inconveniencing others.

Here is why: For people who have played hundreds of hours and built up skins, etc.... not talking isn' t that bad. It makes the game more pleasant for others too and they will keep playing and not be able to harass others.
But when you permaban the entire account (I had one banned), then they just create a new one where they CAN CHAT... which leads right back to toxic behavior and doesn't improve the game one bit.
So, permaban chat... some level of game improvement. Permaban the player... no improvement as they just create a new account.

AeroWaffle7 votesYes. Riot is not interested in trying to get you to behave yourself at the point of a permaban for the simple reason that you're unlikely to no matter what punishment is issued. They've already tried something similar to permanent chat restrictions. Those that had basically permanent chat restriction did not behave themselves, they just found other ways to piss off other people.
So Riot encourages a player to go elsewhere by making them lose all their progression on their account.

They did things that were punishable but very hard to detect if not impossible.
They did things that weren't punishable but still aren't the best ideas and still piss their teammates off.
They flat out inted, trolled, or hardcore griefed.

Tried tried that, if failed because said toxic players just continued to be toxic now in other ways.

Never played league again
Play very rarely and are not toxic when they do so.
Very few come back and continue being toxic.

If you have statistics provided by Riot to offer, please show them to us., because without statistics provided by Riot to back them up, your statistics belong to the 73.6% of the made-up-statistics. We do not have such statistics, you most likely don't have them either and Riot itself might not have those statistics either. (Riot don't have them because they have no way to tell if a suspended person continues playing with a different account or if it is a new person.)
So Chermorg, what I am trying to say is that please try to avoid using statistics or other similar claims when you write unless you can actually show us the facts. I would prefer if you focused on neutral moderating of the boards (backed up with actual facts) instead of taking sides in any debate and throwing around claims which you are unable to prove. You are an 'Advisor' and you should behave like one. (I have wanted to say that to you for a while already, but since I do not have a private channel to use, I have to use a post here in a public thread.)

Zezockary8 votesIP bans are very easy to circumvent and potentially hit innocents.
Unplugging your modem and plugging it back in changes your IP address unless you specially request a static IP.
If you live in a college dorm an IP ban would hit everybody else there as well.
