Season 3 vs Season 7

Someone disconnects and reconnects 2 minutes later

Season 3: "Fair play please. Let me farm up a bit please"

Season 7: "Open mid" (even in normal games)

15th minute a lane is 0/3

Season 3: "We can still win, try to catch someone offguard and play safe, just farm."

Season 7: "Open, report xxx inting"

Someone tries out a new champion (in normal game)

Season 3: "better max Q/W/E first and build XYZ"

Season 7: "Noob try new champs in botgames."

I kinda really dislike how toxic the game is nowadays. Yes, the playerbase has always been toxic, but it is much more toxic now than it was a few years ago. Certain streamers and youtubers are part of the reason too. "CY@" "Boosted animal" "open mid" and more. All these things were made popular by streamers. It may be fun when watching the stream or video, but it is so annoying when actually play with or against someone that writes this stuff and has the attitude "open at 8th minute".

i like a little banter with enemy team and my team ( banter =/= toxicity ) but you are right , people are negative. Problem is the punishment system may work but its not solving the problem , the biggest problem is that people cant deal with frustration in this game and there is nothing here that can teach them how to deal with this feeling. Even after punishments you get literally nothing to work with. I believe everybody can reform but he needs 3 things :

  • will to reform
  • specific rules that he needs to know and understand
  • help

in current system there is nothing. Its the community that is toxic and the community should fight with this problem , right now most people rely on system that yea , it does ban toxic players but it does not delete them from the game they will buy new account and come back even more frustrated. People escalate conflicts , people pay more attention to reporting a player than actually understanding his point of view. And no , im not denying there are lost cases of extremely toxic players, but most summoners that i meet are tilted, frustrated and negative and those people can be reformed with some help

Same here. I hate the community quite a lot, back in season 1 when I was purely new here, I got helped quite a lot.

first thing my first LoL friend asked "i'll do a new build on kayle" and I replied "WOW YOU CAN EVEN BUILD IN THIS GAME? HOW? AND WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO BUILD"

looking back now i realized i was a dumb goat back then.

I think the game was far more toxic in season 3 than it is now.
