Concerns about the Report System (Tribunal)

How does the system determine what reports matter?

Does writing anything in the "tell us what happened" box increase the chances of reports being checked?

I've reported players that say "gg rage quit, enjoy the free win" and RQ 10 minutes in but then I'll never get a notification that anything was done about it. Occasionally (very rarely) I get the "a player has been punished" message, but oftentimes those who are the most deserving of punishment seem to get away with their behavior. To me, some reports (such as rage quitting, blatant trolling, etc.) deserve immediate punishment.

I've begun to feel like reporting is nearly pointless which makes me sad because there are so many games ruined by toxics/afks/trolls and I wish I could feel like reporting made at least a small difference.

The system essentially checks for words or phrases that could be potentially negative in any context.

If the report is shown to player review at RIOT, then it may help identify the player that much easier.

Well, unless your report was the last to trigger it, then you won't get a notification. Also, how do we identify a definite rage quitter who does not chat? Someone could have had real internet issues. And that is why you have to leave a LOT of games to get leaverbuster. Blatant trolling... Not going to lie, this is really hard to detect. There is the obvious shit like 6 tears, but then there are players who go around with Trundle and E every ally, which is hard as fuck to find out without video evidence on a support ticket. There are so many diverse ways of trolling, it is heavily recommended to report trolling with pictures and video in a support ticket.

Well, don't worry, they do, given they keep that behavior. They will get caught in no time given you reported them.

you only get the notification when your report was part of the final report that contributed to the punishment.

we also don't know what punishment will yield us that notification. Would chat restricts show it? or doe it only show with permabans? No one knows.
