Is this normal?

Diamond 3 flex, two of my allies get catched without doing any damage. I ping retreat, my other 2 allies patiently wait for the enemies to recoordinate and fight them 2v5. Not even defending something like an epic monster or tower just in plain lane. Of cause they die without killing anyone.

Did the have some sort of mental breakdown? Is this logic normal in mid diamond, do I need to climb higher until player make rational decisions?
