a concern i have about the punishment system

Punishment tiers don't decay if you arent playing

the reason i say this is a problem. is it forces reforming players to continue to play while they're upset about their punishment., when they should really be taking a break from league, which can result in further tilt and more punishments.

Except if it did decay simply off time, then people would just play smurfs for x amount of time while waiting for it to decay on their main. It would be more of a problem that could be abused for toxic players.

I would like to find clarification, but if you need games to lower the penalty, consider playing 100 bot games. I would suggest checking if bot game count for lowering tiers or not though. Otherwise, I would suggest sticking to some mode/modes you don't care how it goes. (3v3, ARAM, RGM.)

I do agree they should take a break, but if you even want to keep your skill level, you need practice/play anyways. Time away would cause "rust".

Well, they're not really FORCED to continue playing... they can always take a break. The punishment won't decay during that break, but perhaps that's what's best for them.

Given the choice between punished players being encouraged to simply smurf during their punishments OR risk tilting them by keeping them on their chat-restricted mains, I think the latter is the safer choice. Do you have a third option?

No one is going to reform by not playing. if they can't just not type horrible things in chat then they truly have an issue they need to work on. It's not hard to just not be toxic. There's muting and just focusing on your own gameplay.

I don't see why this should change. Think if a person just went from one smurf to another so their accounts would remain in good standing.

The point would be to never be toxic though. Sure they should take a break, but they can take a break, while they are on their break nothing will happen to the account since its not playing any games, if they come back and are toxic, then the break didn't work and then they get a more serious punishment, sometimes they even get a permanent break from playing on their account.

You're going to be salty about whatever punishment you get no matter which account you play.

So you either play your main account with the intent to reform or you play a smurf and continue to be toxic and keep getting more punishments on each subsequent smurf until you can't ever play lvl 30's again because you're afraid of permabans on every account you play...

If the punished player can't deal with having to treat other players like human beings, then that toxic player doesn't belong in the league community.

They need to re-build the punishment system they are too fast to punish people and they should NEVER punish both sides. The mods seem to think that we should be treated like small children and both sides of ANY argument should be punished no matter who was in the wrong or started it.

That is like the police punishing the rape victim because "she was involved" in the crime.

The mods refuse to put the effort in to finding out who was trolling or harassing and would rather use a computer algorythem that automatically decides who was being bad in chat by words used and often punishes both sides of the argument because they don't want to put the effort in to judge fairly or sort reports.

The punishments are WAY too harsh and if they are going to have harsh punishments they need to have a way to be forgiven after so many games of "good behavior" because face it everyone has a game or two once in a while where there is that one champion that is ruining it for everyone and toxic in chat.

They need to have punishments that affect game play rather than chat because face it no one cares about chat unless they are trolling or really into talking while playing. With the voice chat no one has to worry about text chat now either.

I feel that they should NEVER punish both sides unless both sides are being toxic. Most of the time there is a troll or toxic player that STARTED the problem and tilted the other people on the team.

Punishments should affect game-play so if your toxic you don't have as much fun and eventually it's not fun to play the game any more if your going to be toxic or harass people and you leave.

trolls, cheaters and toxic players are all doing it because they enjoy making others mad or feeling like they are winning if you make it not fun anymore they will go play somwhere else and you don't have to deal with them.
