solution to deal with players baiting toxicity

if a player receives a "you have been reported" warning or a restriction on their account "from a chat restriction to a perma they have the option to click a button that says "i was baited" which would bring up the chatlogs from that game in the box. and a checkbox with champion icons. the reported player would then check the box any player they thought was trying to bait them. and any player they check. would be INSTANTLY reviewed for punishment. regardless of report weight, account standing or games they have been reported in. and if the player was legitimately baited into being toxic the player/s involved would each receive escalated penalties equal to the player's account standing . or bumped up a penalty whichever of the two is more severe"example x player got a chat restriction flamebaiter would get that tier of chat restriction or higher if the player was permabaned. the flamebaiter would be permabanned as well. while clicking the button would not remove restrictions on the reported player. it would discourage players from trying to bait people into being toxic. and encourage people to think twice before reporting someone just because they can.

  1. There is a report option already in existence. This falls into the category of (as you yourself have mentioned) griefing.

  2. There is nothing a stranger on the internet can force you to do. You are accountable for your actions. "Being baited" is just an excuse you are giving yourself to avoid taking responsibility for how you act.

  3. The real and OBVIOUS solution is to not take the bait.

in addition. a new report category would be added to the checklist Griefing: baiting toxicity/ deliberately tilting allies which players would be able to use to report the person regardless of whether or not someone "took the bait" and would trigger a manual review by a human if a player got enough reports

I think any such penalty should be a separate one. Tying it in to the 'baited' player's punishment is difficult to balance. Usually this falls under a preexisting penalty though, so adding this shouldn't be necessary.
