banning

Why is Blizzard a better company then riot You're playing a game, and people don't like to lose. It's human nature. If you're an idiot and contribute to the loss, it pisses people off. Sorry if it triggers you. There's a mute button for a reason.

By the way, I can tell you right now that Blizzard doesn't give a care about reports. This isn't ego-trip-Lyte's League of Legends. Silences go out once in a while but rarely... and I have never ever heard of a ban just for language.

People need to man up. (Maybe I should put that in the form of a song lyric so your cuddly little mind can understand it?)

Okay, hold on.

If you've been a active follower of blizzard since atleast 2008-ish (around release of WOTLK) till today, you would be crying of laugh seeing this statement. I can honestly not think of another company who managed to mess up so badly multiple times over the past couple of years.

You're playing a game, and people don't like to lose. It's human nature.

No. Please. Stop. Please stop using that term.

Blizzard doesn't give a care about reports.

First of all, you need sources for this. Secondly, you cannot compare blizzard games to League of Legends.

  • If you flame in WoW, you're going to be known around your server for being the way you are. Guilds wont have you, people wont invite you to raids. On the top of this, if you're toxic in a raid you'll get removed. If you're toxic outside raid you'll get ignored and people wont have to struggle with you.

  • If you "flame" in Heartstone, you'll get squelch'd. Obviously there's no chatbox, but some players has the need to add you after a game and empty out on you. If you've been playing around for some time you know this and its never going to be a problem.. unless you want a good laugh and accept his friend invite.

  • if you flame in Diablo, you'll get kicked off the group and ignored. They can do this whenever they feel like without consequences.

  • if you flame in HOTS.. which you cant as there's no ingame chatbox... I believe?

As you notice, the few games where you actually can flame handles it pretty well. The punishment is you being removed. The result of your flame isn't very effective niether.

People need to man up.

I'll correct you; People need to read up before throwing statements on forums.

{quoted}You're playing a game, and people don't like to lose.

People should realize that games with internal skill trackers aim for a 50/50 win/loss rate. If you're not willing to lose about half your games, the game in question probably isn't for you.

There's a mute button for a reason.

Indeed. But people misunderstand the reason -- it's there so that players who encounter a toxic player have a recourse to avoid being abused for the duration of a game. It is NOT there to ALLOW abuse by providing a means to escape it.

It's like having a shield: you have a shield so that, if you are attacked, you have a defense. Having a shield is NOT an invitation for someone to attack you.

I understand that my experience may not be representative of everyone's experience and may not be the the most common experience.

With that being said, I can mess up REALLY badly in a blizzard game and no one types shit in allies chat. No one pings. No one does anything.

I think I have encountered three memorable negative people in my whole experience playing various blizzard games and that's from like old days of diablo 1, starcraft 1, and warcraft 1.
