I should not need to mute multiple teammates pings almost every game.

And yet that is what this game has devolved to. I'd say that I end up having to mute someones pings in a solid 80%+ of my games, and I usually end up needing to mute more than 1 person. I don't know how or when this happened, but pings are now just another tool that people use to harass their teammates. Ping spamming as a form of harassment has now become so prevalent that it needs its own report option because the options currently on offer just aren't cutting it. And given how easily trackable such behavior is, people should be getting banned for it, and quickly. I honestly see more ping harassment than I do flaming in chat these days, and Riot really needs to make it clear that this kind of behavior is not acceptable. And no, being able to mute pings doesn't make ping harassment acceptable any more than being able to mute chat makes flaming acceptable.
