[POLL] DAY 2; It's been nearly 1 year since Tyler1 was banned. Is he Reformed? [DISCUSSION THREAD]

TheKingofEloHell·3/24/2017, 2:12:28 AM·20 votes·3,123 views

I. INTRO:

Tyler1 was indefinitely banned across all accounts on April 30th, 2016.

FULL STORY BELOW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmXFUI853Rc

I am creating a poll every day between now and April 30th 2017, the 1 year anniversary of Tyler1's indefinate perma ban.

Day 1 poll results: https://gyazo.com/bec6cc989b7431fd0a3d0dec39755739

Total Votes: NO UNBAN: 46; UNBAN: 69; NO OPINION: 11

II. BODY:

I identify myself as a toxic player. In fact I am sadly well known as that Toxic Morde guy on reddit. This is NOT something I am proud of. In fact I uninstalled League 40+ days ago in an effort to detox and maybe one day come back to the game with a better attitude.

Nonetheless I began loving what Tyler1 does AFTER he got perma banned. It was not immediate, but as the months came and went, Tyler1, at least for me, began to exhibit true blue reform. As the video at the top shows, he has been trying not only to reform himself, but** also his fans.**

Unlike most of the community, Tyler1 does not signify Toxicity to me. He signifies sincere reform. I feel that if someone who burned through 20+ accounts can turn his act around, then someone like myself, who was never once banned, but still ashamed of my behavior can as well. I want to believe that unbanning Tyler1 can become an anti Toxicity movement. I believe there can be no better time to unban him than to mark his 1 year anniversary since being banned.

EDIT: Phreak and fellow Rioters allowed that if they could conclude Tyler1 was truly reformed, he could be unbanned https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcY-0QVYgH4&feature=youtu.be&t=1m34s

However that is only my own opinion. I want to hear the opinion of others in the community. I am requesting that you guys use this forum as a chance to present sound arguments and opinions. I understand your passions, but please do not flame me for voicing mine.

III. EXAMPLES:

There is a correct way and an incorrect way to do this:

Is Tyler1 reformed? Does he deserve to be unbanned?

INCORRECT:

> [{quoted} He isn't and doesn't deserve an unban. Give it a fucking rest already.

CORRECT:

> [{quoted} I think his punishment hasn't been long enough. The dude ruined literally thousands of games over dozens of accounts. I think bare minimum he should be banned at least 1 month for every account of his that has gotten permanently banned. That said, if he shows some true reformed behavior or philanthropic work then that may sway my opinion.

IV. QUESTIONS:

As stated above this is a discussion thread. These are the questions I present:

A) Is Tyler1 reformed?

B) Does he deserve an unban?

C) Should he become unbanned do you think he will use this chance or waste it?

D) Do you think the community will make it hard for Tyler1 if he WAS unbanned? (Oh I see Tyler1 streaming League again, let's snipe him and int his games to make him rage)

E) If this became an issue, how do you think Tyler1 would respond? Should respond? How would you deal with it if you were him?

** F) If he doesn't deserve an unban, why?**

Thankyou for participating in this discussion; the poll is below. (Upvotes are appreciated so we can generate more viewing equaling more opinions)

V. POLL

Due to a strange forum bug I am unable to create a thread with the poll option enabled. Until this is fixed we will be using Surverymonkey:

He can stay banned.

It won't make a difference anyway, you still see him make occasional league content videos even while perma'd. Just for going against his permaban I feel should justify why he should stay banned, because he's perma'd he's basically free to do whatever he wants since, whats the opportunity cost really?

Maybe if he stayed banned and made apologies or something riot could give him a 2nd chance (or 20th by now) and see him change, but he's still doing his thing of ignoring riot and doing what he wants, which in itself, goes against "reforming himself".

Didn't you post this crap the other day? He's banned get over it.

If you like Tyler so much, go to his YouTube... There's enough video therfrom for you to want to hang yourself 8 times over.

If they can unbanned DDOSer like Jensen I don't see no issue unbanning Tyler.

tldr

There is a reason for what Riot did.

Getting perma'd sucks but the dude definitely deserved it. You honestly just can't argue that he didn't. Whether he's reformed or not doesn't really matter. He got permabanned. Not one year banned. He still plays the game anyway so I don't see an issue

I know I'm an asshole and this post is pointless and in no way contributes to the discussion, but...

What a fucking pathetic thread. Who gives a fuck about some guy who plays league? Stop trying to live vicariously through other people.

I wouldn't care if I didn't see the uprising trying to defend this idiot.

T1 had at least 20 bans before Riot (rightfully) decided that this d*ck (the censored letter is obvioulsy a "u"), a number of chances that really few of us would have. But then, he has been so dedicated to be a troll, toxic and a thrower that it has become clear that a person like him simply can't play in a team environment and thus he should stay banned for the sake of any poor soul that might happen queued with him.

That or implement a sort of Alctraz elo/mmr so that T1 gets matched with ppl who made trolling/throwing/toxicity their way of life and let them burn between themselves without affecting ppl who actually care about their team mates and the game.

I won't be even against BVlizzard preventively banning him from OW/WoW/HotS.

Edit: You already did this thread with a poll that could actually be seen, are you afraid of ppl knowing the result and had to hide it behind a poll site?

My main issue about this whole ordeal is the fact that Riot would basically be sending a message that if you show you reform you get unban. Doesn't matter how drastic you were you will eventually become unban. If he does get unban and wastes it would you still defend him as you did now? Because that just further proves Riot shouldn't unban him. Let alone if all it takes is just showing you reform basically everyone would just lie to get their account back then what? I mean what's stopping home or anyone fromjust trolling or being toxic on a smurf account? Whose to say he hasn't been doing that? At this point in time I haven't seen enough evidence that he has reform, or at least reformed enough to account for loads of permaban accounts as well as breaking other rules!
