I think the main issue with honoring the enemy is that players are abusing it only as "you were easy to kill" , "you were our focus" , "you're the reason we won" etc. So it was kind of dishonorable really. As someone who honored the opponent who was nice, posed as a great challenge and gave me a match i enjoyed (win or lose), i was sad that riot had to remove and to know that the system was used for the wrong purpose by many, it was very disgusting really. In other words: Players who used the enemy honor system for wrong reason are the reason why riot removed the honor enemy option from League.

I think it'd be an interesting perk of the honor system to allow something like this exclusively to people who already have high honor ratings. The logic would be that the more "honorable" a player is, the more likely they are to respect people on the other team who have been good teammates / "fun" counterparts to trash talk in /all.

Would it end up working that way? Probably not, but the logic is there.

When it was in the game, I honored enemies quite frequently based on their in game behavior and chat.

People who didn't spam emotes and didn't say "ez" (outside of referring to Ezreal) and said "gg" or those that engaged in playful and funny banter, I'd totally honor.

When I run into players who make really clever role playing jokes in game, I want to honor them because they're funny and they're trying to make the game fun for everyone even though it's a competitive game.

When people are focused on winning and having fun while playing the game rather than flaming and trolling, it makes the game so much better, and opponents can contribute to a fun but still competitive atmosphere as well.

On another note, make S ranks be visible to enemy in post game and let us see KDA before honoring

I think the main point of the honor change was to encourage people who otherwise dont care enough to click it, to still honor someone

I second this! There have been several times where there were enemy players that were just incredibly friendly, and by that I don't mean intentionally feeding or griefing in any way, they were just super polite.

Sad that the only excuse is "it looks like someone is making fun of someone else because they lost".

What happened to just being a good person and having sportsmanship?

Its a bit depressing reading some of the opinions of people that play this game with me

I see this kind of post every week. Surely riot dosent give a fuck if they've been ignoring 25 of these threads. Stop spamming, riot will not bring back honoring enemies.

If the enemy wins, by honoring you humiliate yourself. If they lose, honoring them looks like a mockery to them.

Not worth bringing back.

WøOxer7/2/2018, 8:49:24 AM1 votes

Not gonna happen, because no one honored enemies anyway.
